Some rumors on us chasing French striker Gignac from Toulouse FC, I wouldnt mind seeing him as red, young striker, looking for a spot in a rejuvenated French squad, scored 25 goals and 5 assists in 43 matches in 08-09 season, but dropped to 11 goals and 4 assits in 35 games last season.

Daily Mirror are reporting that Brad Jones will sign today. Not sure what he is like, but he's home-grown so that's helpful.

About Masch...Roy said, that some clubs like to make tranfers bids very late...28-29.08...All our transfer depends on money we can get from Masch transfer - so If we sell Masch so late - we only get weaker - because we will loose great DM and we couldn't properly use money for half year - I don't belive in good last day tranfer....If Masch is going to be sold - sell him till the end of this week - if no bids will came - give him a new contract - maybe he will sign it? I know that we need winger, and striker - but - according to my calculations - after we buy Brad Jones - we will have only 8 mln pounds to spent - with this money we would't get any good striker or winger...and we are running out of time - we have just 2 weeks of transfer window left now - I don't belive that takover will take place before transfer window ends - and IMO - we have now good squad - it's not marvelous - but it's good enough for TOP4. Without Masch and time to get good tranfers for money sb will pay for him - we will be weaker!

Its a tricky one with Masch. He wants to leave and we're not going to stop him by the sound of things but I wouldn't let him go at the end of the window unless we already have the money spent or waiting to go on someone. The bad thing about not using the money from his sale will be that it will go straight into the pockets of the yanks. It won't be there in January thats for sure.

Sell him soon or not until January I say.

Skysports.com understands Liverpool are preparing a bid for PSV Eindhoven forward Ola Toivonen.

New Reds boss Roy Hodgson has admitted he is keen to bolster his attacking options and Toivonen is thought to be top of his wanted list.

Toivonen is regarded as one of the best young players in Europe after catching the eye for club and country in the last few years.

The Swedish international only joined PSV in January 2009 and he has netted 24 goals in 49 appearances for the Dutch giants.

Liverpool scouts have watched Toivonen in action on a couple of occasions and Hodgson is thought to have cast an eye over him as he scored in Sweden´s win over Scotland last week.

The 24-year-old has started the season in fine form with five goals in his first two games for PSV and a number of top clubs are believed to be monitoring his situation.

However, Liverpool are ready to steal a march on their rivals by making a bid in excess of £10million for the versatile attacker.

PSV are reluctant to lose Toivonen, but Liverpool are prepared to make a mega bid to force the Dutch club´s hand and take the Swede to Anfield.
