I think it does mean something. Theyve been in a board meeting all day for what? If the bids were lame ducks then it would not have taken that long and we would have heard something about there being no good bids or more likely heard nothing at all.
But late tonight they make a statement about there being bids on the table and that they are still going through them.
Maybe a late bid came in or maybe they cant agree on the best one yet. The point is the bids are good enough to still be on the table, which IMO means they are good bids and a takeover will happen before the october deadline. Hopefully it will be before transfer window closes but to be honest Im not worried about that at all. Just want it to happen.
Fist of all: The board
need to say something before the league kicks off, just to take focus away from this issue and instead make us all focus on the games ahead - that´s their job! The fact that they come with a statement doesn´t need to mean anything (which is my interpretation of the content in the statement).
Where in the statement does it say that they have been in a meeting for the whole day?
It doesn´t say that they have bids on the table, it says they have
proposed bids, which is a bit different!
It doesn´t say the board are still going through the bids, it says "The sale process is continuing", which is something else!
It doesn´t say the bids are good enough to still be on the table, read the point above.
