Mate, although i think the boy can do a decent job on the right, i dont think we'll see the best of him there. In fact, if Rafa uses him on the right, he should get a wooden spoon on the head.

being a RM these days is real tough work. You are expect to defend, cross, get into the box. Spearing strikes me as a Mascherano sort of player, breaking up plays and giving the ball to the players who can use it better. Putting him on the right will just screw up his confidence.

right now, only robocop Kuyt and Gerrard can do all of those things stated above.

He is pretty good with the ball at his feet and passing so if you can add the Masch type of defence then he would be great in the centre.

Spearing certainly has the fire in the belly to be a Liverpool player. I remember he scored a hatrick of goals in one reserve game so he knows how to find the back of the net.

But he needs games to build up his confidence. So many young players fail to make the grade unless they are exceptional but sometimes when you are that young, u need games to sharpen your skills. If he is going to play 10 games this season, it might be considered ok.

but next season, he probably want more games and that is the time to loan him out.

i think spearing deserves a chance this season compared than the rest that have been mentioned. the game against real madrid was a joy to behold altho he only played a few mins. if that is his standard, why must rafa keep him away from the bench?

exactly right mobbie!! all youngsters have to be given a chance at some point - after all the likes of rush, fowler, mcmanaman etc didn't spend years being loaned out in case they were not ready - they were given a chance and they took it ...... spearing was given a chance against real madrid and played well enough to deserve a lot more chances

Good news as he and Darby have signed new contracts. Looks like Rafa has plans for him yet.
