the fact that you seem to hold neil ruddock in the same esteem as you do masceranho says all i think.i can think of 100 players that we would be much better off with- a midfield player that can't pass,shoot or inspire but instead bitches ,gets sent off and takes no responsibility on the pitch cannot be mentioned in the same breath as souness. what next ruddock alongside hansen Name me 10 then.

There have been games where we have needed a player like masch against the big teams to stop them playing the ball through to their strikers so he would kick them to upset them. But against Teams when we play at home we don't need a player like him as we need someone more creative and attacking. I personally don't think we need him and we can spend the money on better positions.

I totally agree with this Souness was a better overall player than Gerrard. Technically Gerrard might just be ahead but in terms of personality and presence Souness was way ahead of Gerrard. [quote=Mr Ruddock]

i think i would probably rate souey and stevie as equal only because of the respective teams they played with through their careers.

His attitude sucks but he is a great player. His distribution is better then Lucas and he has passion. Yes he wants to be at a huge club.
It's natural he wasn't really a Liverpool fan before he got here and Benitez have him a chance to resurrect his career. Look at Essien, Scholes etc everone spits out there dummy when decisions don't go their way.
Yes if we get 24 - 30 Mill for him if not let him stay sulk and get his head out his ass. Benitez valued him at that when he was here but now he doesn't want to pay that. Just shows you what an ass he was. Good luck to Roy with all the crap he needs to deal with.
