Hull City defender Michael Turner has responded to speculation linking him with a possible move to Anfield and an England call-up.
The highly-rated 25-year-old centre-back is wanted by Rafa Benitez to replace veteran Sami Hyypia but he's also been linked with rivals Manchester United.
Despite the attention and rave reviews, Turner is hoping to sign a new deal with Hull in the New Year.
Turner said: "My agent has had a couple of meetings with Phil Brown and hopefully in the next few weeks something can be agreed.
"We are looking to extend it and hopefully something can be agreed pretty quickly.
"This is my first year in the Premier League, the club is going in the right direction and I want to be part of something here.
"First and foremost I have got to stay in the Premier League and go again next year.
"Hopefully the stadium can be developed - we have got the fanbase and the potential to be a huge club.
"I have just got to keep my feet on the ground. I'm not the kind of person to let it go to my head, I just take each game as it comes.
"Like any English player I would love to play for England but at the moment I have only played 18 [Premier League] games.
"If I play a few seasons to the standard I have you never know, but I am not thinking about that."
