IMO Moutinho and Veloso are the midfield partnership that could quickly replace alonso mascher as they already play together at Sporting... still devastated they are goin.. Alonso was my favourite player, the best passer in the game.

Hi everyone - First post on here. If Alonso or Masch do go, I was wondering if a move for Patrick Viera on a free from Inter would be a good move? Still only 33 and he could just sit in front of the back four using his experience to read the game, a bit like Gary Mac did. He knows the prem well and we could then use all the money from any potential sale to boost our attacking options.

Point am making is that it's no coincidence none are taking the fans who suppport and idolise them so much feelings into consideration by signing for local rivals, it's something you just dont do. I happen to think South Americans philosophy of money comes before football it's sort of bred into them to support there families and such and the Argies seem to be the worst for it, Mascherano and Tevez are the worst culprits i have seen to do this by selling there futures to a dodgy rogue agent because he can get them more money in there careers, Would love to know how much money Mascherano made for a signing on fee when we made his transfer to us permanent and the same goes for Tevez when he signs for City.

Tough call on the Argies Ged....Tevez in particular wasn't offered a contract extension and felt like whe wasn't required. Although i don't agree with players going to their biggest rivals and believe they should show a bit of loyalty, their careers do not last that long and tha would be one of the reasons they go for big money! Leto was our player and we loaned him out so your pretty tough on him too! It's not just the Argies that do it but all players around the world!

Sell Alonso and let Masch rot in the reserves.

If Alonso goes we are in trouble. If Mash goes we are completely screwed, he is irreplaceable. I think hes been our best player this season.

Anyone who thinks we can lose these two awesome premier league players and find decent enough replacements, that will make us good enough to win the league, is deluded. We need them to stay. Our central midfield is nearly perfect imo.

This is why I hate silly season, at least in January you can sing players names so they realise they are truely loved by the fans, and get emotional, cry and say the could never leave, maybe we should all go to Masch and Alonsos house and chant our heads off!
