As always Red a depressing and bleak outlook on all things Liverpool. You really do need to take some happy pills.

I think we are going to be right up there in the mix. Dont see Villa or Spurs sustaining last season form. I think its too soon for shi*ty to mount a serious challenge as they have a lot of big egos over there and it will take time to get them working.

Scum and Chelsea wont improve on last seasons form, if anything they'll be worse.

Arsenal are the only team I see improving outside of ourselves. So in all I think we have a great chance this season.

Our aim should be to finish in the top 4. Villa and spurs will struggle this season. Our main competition will be Man City & Arsenal but the former are going to take a long time to gel as a team and we need to make a good start to the season. If we can keep Torres, Gerrard and Agger fit for majority of the season I think we will finish in the top 4.

Roy should also play the younger players in the cups to give them more experience.

Come on I am being realistic and also using my head instead of my heart unlike others on here. How can anyone say Liverpool will win the league it's an absolute joke, as we speak the club has gone backward not forward from finishing second, we are mot miraculously goingt to go from 7th place to 1st in one season. I happen to think Spurs and City have better squads in depth than us and some of the problems we had last season are still there a week before the new season starts, Torres is not all of a sudden going to stay injury free, the blend of Mascherano and Lucas is not all of a sudden going to improve another 75%, we dont have a proper left back and Ngog is still going to play an awful lot of games this season due to Torres being injured all the time. Please people I know you dont want to hear the truth but you simply cannot keep burying your heads in the sand, we as it stands are going backwards both on and off the pitch at present and we still have more negatives than positives at in front of us,talk of league titles and things are just pipe dreams, we will not go from 7th place to 1st in one season no chanmce whatsoever.

So what your saying is because I say we wont win the league am being negative on this topic, if you read my reasoning you can see I have tried to explain why I think we will finish where I have said and I have also backed up my reasoning with in my opinion valid points. I would love to think we could jump from 7th to 1st in one season and like to tell you all we are going to make up 23 points on Chelsea but in the real world it's simply not going to happen is it even if we do have a better season and Chelsea have a poorer one. Its no good everyone on a forum patting ourselves on the back, telling eachother everything is alrite and how we are going to do this and that if the facts state otherwise now is it, we need to be realistic, someone once said in order to move forward you have to concentrate on putting the negatives right before the positives and this is what we need to address before anything else.

I see the guardian newspaper have agrred with my prediction of 6th so at least someone must think what I have said is fair. I look at Spurs and think they are stronger on a couple of points, we deffo have a better goalkeeper, there full backs seem more solid defensively than ours, alrite Johnson is really good going forward but does become a bit of a liability when under pressure defending, spurs are not special by any means but considering they have the edge because we dont have a proper dependable left back they get the nod there. Centre halfs well if i was going to pick two it would probably be Agger and Dawson, if Ledley was fit and dependable he would be the best of the lot so defence as a whole might have Spurs edging it. In midfield you would have Lennon, Gerrard, Modric and probably Joe Cole thats two each, Up fron you would have Torres and Defoe so all square again. So for the first 11 there is nothing between us, now here is where I think Spurs are stronger, in defence we have Skirtel, Insua, Ayala and Kelly, to come in while Spurs have Bassong, Kaboul and Woodgate in Midfield we have Lucas, Kuyt and Babel to fight for positions while Spurs have Huddlestone, Jennas, Krankjaer, Bentley, Palacios and Gareth Bale, Up front to come in we have Ngog and probably Pacheco as we speak while Spurs have Crouch, Pavlyuchenko and Gudjohnsen. As you can clearly see Spurs do have a stronger squad in depth and I just feel over the course of the season that extra quality in squad could prove a crucial factor and thats why I think they will finish just ahead of us, it's not impossible to finish ahead of them i might add but I think we will finish 6th this season, just my opinion though.
