Your deluded you pal, city av been up and down the prem like I've been on your ma. Yea we haven't won the league in 20 years but we've still been I. The hunt for winning silver, go an learn something mate before u post stupid daft things that are probably said to wind ppl up, an ye I do get wound up by stupid idiotic opinions, this is how it is these days with rich owners but like I said it's nothing different from when we where wonng the league, we where buying the best players then and always will do, how football works. O one more point our club as a stature is totally different to what Chelsea and citys is
Your having a laugh mate calling me diluded, you need to have a long hard look at yourself. The club your talking about was like nearly a quarter of a century ago, the things that made us great back then have long long gone and wont be coming back. You say we bought the best players then yes we did, but what you are forgeting is that we earned the right to buy the best players back then because we won leagues and European Cups, that is no longer the case.
For the last 20 years we have bought big and not had any proper success to set it off against and thats what has left us in the hole we are now and what eventualy forced David Moores to sell up because he simply could'nt carry on pouring money down a bottomless pit with nothing back profit wise in return. since we won the league we have broke so many transfer records for the club goalkeepers in James, Kirkland and Reina, defenders in Mark Wright, Babb, Ruddock and Agger and Dossena, midfielders in Hamann, Alonso and Maschearano, wingers like Babel and strikers like Collymore, Cisse, Keane and Torres all money spent with virtualy nothing to show apart from one solitary Champions league which in no way reprsesents a return in the players we have bought over all those years. Thats why we cant buy the best players now and why we are in the position we are in now, it has nothing to do with Hicks or Gillette who have came in and done some bad, the problem lies with bad chairmen, bad managers, bad players and loser fans over the years who have been all to ready to accept mediocrity on the pitch, this has gone on well before these two yanks came in.
So please dont spout about us being this mythical club what has happend to us is exactly what happend to other great clubs like Leeds United and Wolverhampton Wanderers before us the only difference is they slipped alot further than what we have, dont you think there fans were saying what you are saying twenty years after there last league title and look at those clubs now.
Am not being a defeatist I am just being a realist, Liverpool Football Club will never be the club they were once, even if some rich owner takes us over and we start winning leagues and Champions leagues the reason being it will all be false because we wont of earned it in the right way, even the club fans are different, the loyal, local lifeblood of the club fans dont go the match anymore because the stadium is full of wools, Out Of Towners and foreign fans so the club has lost it's identity years ago.
