I'd buy Santa Cruz and partner him with Torres.

Yer good call. I like Santa Cruz, he proved what he could do when he was at Blackburn. Only problem is he is injury prone, but when he is on form he is great. Torres and Santa Cruz with Kuyt and Jovanovic as back up sounds very interesting to me. Ngog isn't even worth a look in, he is simply terrible.

I'd rather play Dirk up front than santa claus

santa cruz is not even worth 5m. he is more injury prone than torres and we dont want that. he will just end up on the sidelines most of the season.

We need a winger no a striker so that we can put Kuyt upfront with Torres. Jovanovic is quite an effective player on the left side of attack as he looks left footed to me. He is no Ronaldo but i think he may be a hugely under rated player.

What happened to that French striker Remy?

to be honest, i think the media are getting it wrong with most of the people we are being linked with. im sure things will start to happen soon. we're all like crack addicts, we seen cole and wilson join in the space of 2 days and we all need our next fix lol!

but hodgson has stated he won't rush into buying anyone just to make up the numbers, he wants the right players at the right price. give him a bit of time. plus the first team arent even training or playing in any friendlies yet so theres still plenty of time. lets be patient.

It'd be great if we can get a new striker in, but I don't think it'll be a tragedy if we don't. With the arrival of both Cole and the snake we're already looking stronger attacking wise. Babel seems the type of player who needs an arm put round him and I think Roy will do this so hopefully we'll see some of that raw potential that he undoubtedly has unleashed on a consistent basis for the first time this season. I'd love to see Pacheco given more chances as well - his goal against England was top drawer and whenever I've seen him play he's looked positive and enthusiastic and extremely talented. Plus Kuyt can certainly score goals. Torres is quite simply the man and hopefully these new sports scientists can earn their keep and we'll see him fit for the whole season.

according to sky sports news liverpool are having problems raising the cash for loic remy (which implies we are pursuing other transfer targets too) but the player has stated he will wait for as long as possible until liverpool are ready. a deal for the move is thought to be within the £12.5m mark

If I didn't have an account on here already I would have made one to comment on this post. Cruz is not a 20 goal a season striker by any stretch of the imagination, off the top of my head I don't think he hit 20 in more than the one season he managed to stay fit for most of it. Other than that one good season his injury record has been shocking at all of his clubs. And hes just getting older and more brittle. If we got him for 1 mil we would have been robbed, let alone 8.
