put lucas and aqua in the middle...

with kuty gerrad joe, supporting torres...

then have babel, milan and another winger and striker on the bench...

we dont need another central midfielder...

get a winger and a backup striker...

At this point in time. Lucas and Aqua are bench players and not first choice.

Stevie.G might love to play upfront. But the team plays better with the captain taking the game by the scruff of the neck in central midfield.

The priorities should be for a quality foward to ease the burden on Torres and give Ngog time to grow. And a left back.

i think the players we need are central midfielder, left back and right wing. Lucas isnt good enough and if we want gerrard playing the 'alonso' role (ie playmaking, passing etc) then we definitely need a replacement for masch. and Lucas isnt it and Aqua isnt that type of player. what are everybodys thoughts on sully mantari? he has been linked with us. And there is Diara who wants to play in the PL.

I think with the masch money we should get muntari/parker, SWP/someone else and figerola (cant spell his name and cant be arsed to look it up).

RH needs to buy more players because Joe Cole isnt enough! One thing is for sure, Luke Young isnt the answer! We dont need another rb!

Muntari is not a DM, I know a lot of people say he is but his not. Diarra would be a good buy though. And we need a striker.

well gerrad was very clumsy when he started, but once he got games, he became a player to be feared...

aqualani is an alonso typeplayer, he is good, all he needs is games to play...

lucas was bein touted as alonso, whn in reality he is masch type player..

these are good players, if we dont give them a chance, how will they prove their worth..

I could see Hodgson use Gerrard in centre midfield, but I have to say that any idea that Gewrrard can lie deep as a playmaker is wrong headed. To my mind, the positions Rafa used him made more sense based on his abilities.

He has never been a playmaker. He slows things down, worries too much about hitting hollywood passes, and does not make the right choices.

Alonso and Xavi are proper playmakers.

Leave Gerrard higher up the pitch - possibly with the likes of Lucas or Parker behind him.

I think Gerrard playing higher up the pitch isnt just because of his ability in that position , its because hes getting older and slower and just behind Torres he doesnt need to do much work during a game apart from feed Torres and score goals. Im pretty sure rafa and a few ex players mentioned that fact last season too.
