I think its not bad as he can play both RB and LB but i would assume he is only going to be used as a replacement for those positions and nothing else. We still need a LB

i just don't think he is Liverpool quality

we do need a utility squad player who can provide cover for the new left back and for johnson.

plus he's english. people are sayin we need 2 left backs, plus degen is leavin so doesnt that mean we need 2 right backs too? darby is going out on loan to charlton i think this season.

we need a player like him, like an arebeloa. people are moanin about the price but its killin 2 birds with one stone. what should we do buy 2 left backs and one right back? thats gonna cost us more money and we'll end up with 2 sh1t players, u get what u pay for at the end of the day but luke young suits us trust me.

last season we had a huge list of injuries, agger and carragher should be centre halfs end of. even masch got thrown out at right back and that cost us especially against wigan away were he wasnt pickin up his man when the crosses were comin in.

this signing would be ideal in my opinion. like i said in the other thread, he fits the bill perfectly.

id like to see johnson used on the wing in one of our friendlies. ziege, riise and aurelio all got their fair share out on the left wing and you'd thing johnson would have something too offer there and it would be a good option for us.

we need attacking full backs in our team though, i know ramos is a better defender than johnson, but when he got forward he caused all sort of problems in that spanish side.

still think we can do much better then luke young, if he isnt good enough for villa then why should we take him

cos we need a player like him more than villa do they have warnock and bouma and use cuellar on the right. we have johnson.

yea i agree. this is a strange one if you ask me.

can't be 1st choice lb, definitely not 1st choice rb and i would have hoped kelly would be back-up for johnson this season.

so what role will young have? cover for another lb(figueroa)?

I agree we need a player but i don't think he fits the bill

he is a bench warmer at best and certainly not good enough for the first team

not sure who we would get better for the same money - someone low risk, used to the Prem who can play both sides.

Plus, can't say I have followed his career that closely to know exactly how good he is, so if/when he comes we will have the opportunity to judge him based on his performances.

Well i saw him a few times at Charlton and he is ok but i don't think he is at the level to play for a top team. He might be good for your fulham's or west hams of this world but not a top 6 side no way.
