He has officially left Real today after a stellar career.

And now he has distanced himself from saying that he has already signed for Schalke, claiming that England or Germany will be his destination.

Would he be a good deal for us? A free transfer and a Spanish Legend to keep Torres happy?

I think this could be a very viable option as long as he accepts realistic wages of around £65-70000 pw.

He could still be a useful acquisition. Good in the hole behind FT and link up play with Midfielders. Would definitely boost our squad.

A two year contract couldnt hurt that mush could it?

Yep I'd take him !.. But there's speculation that IF he does come to England it's to Newcastle unfortunately !

Only if he is not expensive in regards to wage. Otherwise a waste!

no thanks. his best days are a long way behind him now and he'll get kicked all over the park by english defenders and we'll be stuk paying over inflated wages to someone who really is just looking for a retirement plan.

think with Rafa going our days of being linked with every spanish player looking to leave La Liga really should be over

Was finished years ago and wage demands would be too high anyway.

Not yet.

He just stated that no deal has been signed and his options are open for other others.

I sure hope not, a great respectable professional but he no longer a threat on the pitch. However, the MLS would be ideal for him.

Hi guys,

I watched him the last 14 years on la Liga. He is the most important player in the Real Madrid history after Mr. Alfredo Di Estafano.
But the last years were a nightmare for him, his preseasons were very long He needed more weeks than the rest for being fit.
On the other hand, after 2 games in a row ALWAYS an injury.

Great character, great spririt, great player and great proffesional, but not for our team now.
Not now.

Bye.
