If thats the case that he didnt rate him, what the [oops] are the scouts doing. I think he could be a good player, when he played last year he seemed to be trying too hard to make up for lost time, and by the time he did come to some sort of fitness we where doing [oops] or benitez didnt want to throw him in at the deep end. Game that sticks out for me was Madrid in the semi, he looked a real player in the 1st half and looked dangerous.

Could be a new signing if given a fair crack at the whip!

Im sorry had to Join because couldnt believe half of what I was reading..1st off Aquilani has an excellent technical ability, just look back to the game against Pompey he was very good, nice little one twos with Stevie G. At Roma he was there shining light 'There Prince' yet he comes to Liverpool with an Injury everyone was told about under a manager who lets face it went a bit of the walls with pressure last season. Most of the virus type injuries he had were just cover ups in my opinion, he has been given the all clear for next season and I believe he will win games for us next year!! Also for those who still see Lucas as 'Crap' just because its easy too, take a look at his stats

like it or not mate lucas leiva as a liverpool player will always be remembered in the same category as igor biscan, salif diao and the likes.

lets face it. he's clumsy, he's not the best passer of the ball and has about as much technical ability as a wet sponge. fair play to the lad he has improved by on his own standards but can't be too hard can it? not a bad young squad player but he does not deserve to be the first player on the managers team sheet every week, certainly not by liverpools standards.

he's definatley one of the weakest links in our team along with ngog, babel, insua, aqua and dare i say it dirk kuyt at times. give him another season cos we simply dont have a choice, he's not the managers cum bucket anymore so he has to step his game up, lets see how he gets on. there are so many better players out there that would have cost less money than lucas and aqua.

To be honest i think Woy will fade him out of the first team, i reckon we'll see gerrard and mash's replacement in the middle with cole in front of them and behind torres, jova on the left , kuyt right

To be honest - I'm not Lucas fan, but he is great cover for first team DM - and he should stay...we won't sell him for a lot of money, but on DM position he is quite ok at his age - remember - he is only 23, last season Masch played 48 games, scored 1 goal, had 2 assist, get 11 booking and has been sent of twice, while Lucas played 50 games, scored 1 goal, had 5 assist, get 9 booking and hasn't been sent of! I know he usually played with Masch, but still - as DM - he is quality player - as AM - he is crap....but - do we have another DM in our squad ?(I don't count Plassis - he is leaving)
