If we can get for 2m I'd say its a good deal. To be honest I would hope for something a little better.

He would be a decent back-up but thats about it. 2 million is a decent amount to pay for him though.

I/m not having that, Hodgson didnt rate him at Fulham so why would he bring him to us?

Hodgson angling for Hyypia return

New Liverpool manager Roy Hodgson is hoping to lure former Reds great Sami Hyypia back to Anfield.

Hyypia bid a tearful farewell to the club in 2009 - coming on as a substitute in the season's final game against Tottenham Hotspurs.

In a decade at Liverpool, the Finn played 317 games, scoring 22 goals and making himself a permanent fixture in defence for the Reds.

He moved to Bundesliga side Bayer Leverkusen in the summer of 2009, but now a report in the Daily Mirror suggests Hodgson might create a player-coach role in a bid to bring the 36-year-old back into the Liverpool fold.

Hodgson has already pulled off something off a coup by signing Joe Cole and convincing Steven Gerrard to stay despite no Champions League football in the upcoming season.

Young Scottish defender Danny Wilson has already signed for the club in what has been an encouraging start to Hodgson's reign.

There has been a plethora of exits as well, with Yossi Benayoun moving to Stamford Bridge and Alberto Riera exiting for Olympiakos.

Midfielder Javier Mascherano is also reportedly on his way out to reunite with Rafael Benitez at Inter Milan.

Hyypia would be a good signing, since the veteran would certainly help the rebuilding process at Anfield with his experience and pedigree.

Sami back as a player coach would be class! I'd welcome him back with open arms.

Sami was one of my all time favorites. He was always commited to Liverpool and he very rarely put a foot wrong. I would love to see him back.

I cant think of any liverpool fan that did not love Sami. Really. I can see Wilson learning his trade from the master.

just been on skysportsnews

if marseille are succesful signing charles n'zogbia then hatem ben arfa will be offered to liverpool, everton and newcastle on a loan and potential buy deal to get him off the books.

i only seen him play a few times as a kid when he was 17/18 and seen him again against us in the champs league 2 years ago. he looked exciting back then but havent seen much of him since (doesnt really say much if you cant get a game in the french league). i doubt we'll make a move for him tho but a loan deal might suit us.

I would love for us to snap up Nzogbia, tons of speed and strength and cheap. Hopefully we get him before another big club does. I could see Drenthe joining Kuyt and Babel also as hes fallen at Madrid and could probably come for about 5mil.

I'd like to see Elia come in from Ajax , hes been linked for 2 seasons now and i thought he did well when he came on for the dutch late in games , super quick with a decent touch who loves to hug the left hand touchline and go past players, can fill our void out on the left side
