I will be disapointed if Riera leaves to be honest. In the 08/09 season when we finished 2nd, he was one of the main contributors with great service to the strikers. He didn't score alot but he did provide us with great deal of width on the left. Can Jova or Cole do the same as he did? Im not sure but i believe the lad deserves a second chance under the good guidance of roy. I know what he said was bad but it was mainly down to Rafa's actions.

no great loss really. we have Jova and Cole that can both play on the left now. also if as reported you attack another memeber of the squad, slag off your team and manager, whinge about not getting into the world cup squad as you aren't getting first team football and then turn down moves as they won't pay you as much as you want then frankly you need to be got rid of ASAP.

take the money, add it to what we get for insua and go out and buy a good left back. good work roy

I love the way roy has already identified the crap and is willing to get rid asap! Rafa was too stubborn to let enyone go and wanted to 'prove a point' with the retards he bought.

I would love to see SWP Here. He doesnt stand a chance getting in that city team especially as city are treating the transfer market as a supermarket sweep! He would love to play with Cole, gerrard and torres!

Totally agree - get the feeling we are going to see a lot of movement out before the end of the window - and by feck it was needed. A few more quality signings in too...

Degen, N'gog, Riera, Soto and Lucas may all be gone soon... I think Mascherano will stay on though.

Another quality LB, defensive CM, winger and striker needed and then we are in pretty good shape. SWP would be decent, as would Bridge, Cattermole and say Huntelaar...

idkeep riera he sticks to the line and is natural winger ok he doesnt have much pace and throws the dummy some times but he does have lots of technical ability and a very good left foot i think we are better with him than without.on the note of lennon i dont like him yes he has lots of pace but he cant pass a ball and we already have far too many players that cant pass, but i do like bentley hes the nearest crosser of the ball to beckham england have got ,i didnt say he was better just that ,hes a far better passer than swp or lennon .

i disagree. what i liked about Rafa was his willingness to quickly ship out players he'd bought that he didn't feel we're going to make it. Case in point, Josemi, Kromkamp, Gonzalez, Morientes, Keane to name just a few. Far beter than Houllier who had blind faith in all his buys.

Also SWP just doesn't strike me as good enough. he had a couple good seasons at City before he went to chelsea and then has done nothing of note since then. i was amazed to see him in the england squad to be honest. however city are going to have to offload some players and if he could be bought at a reasonably low price im willing to let him prove me wrong
