Sorry, but if it was me & i was off work on my hols i wouldn't be making any commitments either. since when does anyone keep in touch with what is going on at home when they are on their hols. if people believe commitments should be made before or on their hols then they would lose my respect. holidays are holidays whether your the king of spain or a pleb like me & you switch off & not worry about anything else. if you make a statement you need to be around in case there is any fall out.

all that gerrard has asked is that we have a decent enough squad to actually have a crack. for a player of his calibre he has stuck around long enough to have any lfc fans respect

What fall would there be by saying "I'm staying see you in 3 weeks"?

He then goes on holiday and says on Day 1 back at work 'I am here to stay'.

What has he done wrong exactly?

I think too many people have bought into the media bull$hit that has been whipped up Chelsea, United and Arsenal loving journalists...and where other than Dunk's 'exclusive' was there any evidence at all that Gerrard did in fact want out in the first place?

Got to say - the beauty of this site is that people have different opinions - and so they should, that's what it's all about!! I respect every Liverpool fans
' view 'cos they care about our great club...
EXACTLY!!!

I think Gerrard is a fantastic player, but I have to admit I dont like the feller, think he's a big headed pr*ck, whose just in it for himself most of the time. I personaly dont think he should be captain this coming season and for all those people who think he does no wrong what about that Feller him and his five or six thug mates beat up for daring not to play his song, that summed the man up for me both on and off the pitch.

He doesnt need to nor should he have to. Hes under contract ,he never said he was leaving or even considering leaving, He had the weight of a nation on his shoulders at the World Cup to worry about then a much deserved holiday afterwards. Hes rocked up first day back at Melwood business as usual and said i cant wait to play under Roy.

When you are in such a privilidged and high profile position such as his, NO, you should NOT make mistakes like that, EVER.
Granted, he is not alone.

Just about sums the bloke up off the field though sadly.
