Sg was not so good last season - its true. But he was injured and clearly fed up with a manager draining the life out of the club!!

Watch him go this season if he stays fit...

Not grumpy just realistic Flames.

I would love Stevie to inspire us once more but last year he was terrible, fingers crossed he`s back to his old self.!

By the way 37 degrees here, anyone got some rain? I miss it.

He is entitled to see how this season was looking at Liverpool before committing. With the service he has given, he is entitled to do that I would say.

You can't take away what he has given the club for 10+ years - and I stand by my point that after he has stopped playing, he will be considered our best ever player!!

He is Liverpool through and through - end of...

No, I won't give it a break. You asked where those that were critisising gerrard had gone, well here we are, giving OUR opinions if that's ok?
I'm not holding my head in shame, and I object to your comments that we should be.

As I've stated many times, I appreciate what he's done for LFC, and cannot deny his talents, BUT he is downright bloody selfish with his only interest in himself. He doesn't give a stuff for you or any of us.
I am a life long Liverpool supporter, NOT a Gerrard supporter.
I support the team, NOT individuals with undeserved hero and legend status that some of you seemingly shower him with.
Just think back 5 years...sick of mentioning it now tbh.
You have a short and selective memory it seems.

Of course in a football sense I'm made up he's staying,(if he actually decides to play properly next season instead of sulking)

He should take a damned good look and listen hard to how Carra, (who should be captain) Reina and Kuyt conduct themselves in terms of their loyalty towards LFC.

I can undertsnad people's frustration.
Yes I am over the moon he is staying but it does wind me up that he is one of the last to commit and he is our Captain, he should lead by example (with exception of last season) he does on the pitch and should off it.

But still over the moon he is staying and my water eckons he will be back playing his best this season.

I dont understand why he needs to come out and say anything while concentrating on the World Cup and then while on Holiday , hes turned up Day 1 back at Melwood and committed himself , hes done nothing wrong in my opinion.

At the end of the day, SG has been the best player for liverpool for the last i dont know how many seasons ( last season exempt ). He is a passionate liverpool supporter, but he's also a professional footballer who would like to win as many honours that he can. Last season he was played out of position, rushed back because of lack of depth to the squad, saw the manager that he thought would bring us the holy grail lose the plot and the dressing room, so when people ay he took his time to commit, my opinion is he had every right to. He didnt know who the manager was going to be, if the club would be asset stripped, what owners if any were coming in. He has now made his decision and he probably realises that his chances of winning a championship with liverpool is less than it would be wirh madrid, but he has chosen u and we will see a differnt SG in the coming season now he has his spark back. Put him in yer dream team.

I agree that Stevie G has done nothing wrong.

He loves Liverpool, but wanted to make sure he could be happy this season after a nightmare under Rafa last season.

He had a World Cup to play in and to be fair, he said before the World Cup started that he wanted to concentrate on only that - and as England's skipper that was the right move.

He then goes on holiday and says on Day 1 back at work 'I am here to stay'.

What has he done wrong exactly?

I think too many people have bought into the media bull$hit that has been whipped up Chelsea, United and Arsenal loving journalists...and where other than Dunk's 'exclusive' was there any evidence at all that Gerrard did in fact want out in the first place?

Got to say - the beauty of this site is that people have different opinions - and so they should, that's what it's all about!! I respect every Liverpool fans
' view 'cos they care about our great club...
