I agree I think his excellent prospect, carries on the best of British after Shelvey and Cole.

We need a senior left back and a senior striker, thats minimum 17.5m + 3m for Wilson + say Coles 4m (Im guessing) signing fee, that comes to 24.5m. Rafa paid off, Fulham paid off. The money is mounting, where's it coming from?

Scotland's Young Player of the Year - Exactly! To me it would be a good signing if we have money to spend, WE DONT! Looking at the figures, we've sold Benayoun and Mikel San Jose for £8m. That means we've bought Wilson and Shelvey for £6m leaving £2m to spend which would be used for signing on fees with Cole and Jovanovic. That means we have nothing to spend. Great one. Now we have to sell Skrtel, Mascherano and Riera in order to sign Arda Turan, quality left back and decent striker.

The fact that he couldn't replace a Charlton reject worries me though. OK prospect but that fact we could end up paying the same amount for him as we got for Benayoun makes it seem were selling players too cheaply whilst paying over the odds for players. Purslows doing the right thing but he's not the right man to make these kind of decisions.

Your forgetting Insua 5m , Also apparently Hodgson has been given 15m to spend then hopefully sales on top of that, id say soto will go for 2m, mash 25m , riera 5m. Hence we wont have zero left to spend, Hodsgon aint dumb , he knows we need a left back and another striker. More signings will follow within the next week no doubt.

We've got great prospects in Ayala and Kelly. As much as I love having a guy like him at the club, we don't need him especially in times like this. Like Carragher said in his book, he became annoyed with the amount of players which were signed to replace him : Song, Riise, Finnan, Josemi, Henchoz. A guy like Carra wouldn't worry about his competition but it would knock someone like Kelly and Ayala affecting their performance.
