I'm actually not looking forward to the new season. I have a real bad feeling that we're gonna crash and burn and that Roy's going to struggle.

Those feelings aren't set in stone as obviously we will bring in some players this summer and who knows, Gerrard and Torres may bottle it and stay.

We could have a great season, who knows. But what's your hunches?

6th and a league cup , best we can hope for

Its a time to have a manager like Roy. Yossi's article gave a big insight into the way things were going at the club and lets face it they where not good. I didn't want Roy at the club but we need him. To be honest i think some of our players need him more, Steve, Nado, Babel, aqua man but to name a few could do with a season of a manager putting a arm around there shoulder and giving them encouragement.

roy would not have been my first choice but he is here so lets get behind him. and lets face it, it cant be as bad as last year.PLEASE SOMEONE TELL ME THAT IT CANT

Come on Dunk, we need to be possitive. I think that Hodgeson can breath some new life into our team and we can do well. I can kind of understand your concerns about us but we have to remain possitive.

And what do you mean by Gerrard and Torres bottling it and staying?

We'd do well to get into the top 4 this season. Benitez took us backwards in the end with a failed attacking full-back system and 2 full-backs who couldn't defend, and sold off good players. I personally think top 8 is now more realistic. The league has improved, and there is also Man C to consider who win only get stronger. Also remember that Benitez had the best years of Gerrard when he was in his absolute prime. Without him, Liverpool wouldn't have had the success they had. Now Gerrard is 30 and not as mobile as he once was, take a look at last season, not the same as he was. After 30 you decline, even if it's in subtle ways. This year - for me - is a write-off in terms of winning anything. It IS all about steadying the ship while the 2 cancers make their exit and giving young players a chance to improve and mature. In a way, I'm glad. I can finally watch Liverpool without biting my nails off through expectation of us challanging for the title. A pressure off season might just be what we need until we can get new owners in and be real contenders once again.

Must say I have to agree with Emp here, I can see us back in top 4 as long as we don't lose too many top players i.e Stevie and Nando. Get a few quid in for Masceranho and spend it well could be a great season.Top Four min

i dont think we will win the league i think it comes down to who we will sign and if we can keep gerrard an torres,mash can go i dont like his attitude and he cant pass for toffee. what well have to do to get into the top four is come above arsenal as man city surely will make it this season wiyh the money they are throwing around europe, but when we aventualy get new owners we should start challenging for the title but we need some seroius money investing.also has anyone heard anything on the ownership front because broughton said the bidding would start for the club mid july but i havent heard nothing.

Do you think Roy inherited a better squad then Rafa did?

I think he has and dont see any reason why we should be lowering our expectations,especially as Roy has been brought in as an improvement on Rafa.Arsenal may be the crash and burn team this year?

I will be content this season if we manage to keep Torres and Gerrard and start playing more attacking football.
I think it will be us and city fighting for fourth as I belive CL will tak it out on Spurs and they will end up qualifying just for the europa league by the end of the season.

by the end of the season we will be bought out and the new Liverpool era will really begin.
