Purslow has made Joe Cole no.1 priority by offering him a 3 year deal worth 90k a week. Maybe this is why he has sold Benayoun and Insua to help fund the move in terms of the wage bill. However, Hodgson has said he would like Konchesky to replace Insua. NO NO NO! He also wants to get rid of Riera, El Zhar, Plessis, Ngog, Kyrgiakos and perhaps Lucas. I'm glad Roy has finally seen that these guys are just poor and Rafa didn't realise in years. However, I disagree with getting rid of Kyrgiakos. He's got a good physical presence which will be good when facing the likes of Stoke. He's decent cover and Carragher and Agger will be preferred partnership leaving no room for Skrtel so why not get rid of him considering he's more valuable and is on higher wages. Plus, we've got Kelly and Ayala who can do a job at centre-back. However, will Purslow listen or just do things HIS way?
You'd have to agree with all the sales apart from Riera. I thought he was good but fell out with Rafa. I don't think we have to buy a lot, For the last couple of years our reserves have been good, our youths and academy have also been very successful. We have to start bringing these threw, What is the point if not!!!!!!.Rafa wouldn't, They got 10 min if that to show there worth!!, In turn that should give us the money to invest in one maybe two top class players a year
with jovanovic coming in and being considered a wide player by roy it was obvious that either babel or reira would go. those funds plus the 5m from insua should allow us to buy a decent left back, a position we were certainly very week in last season. wouldn't read to much into the konchesky link as roy's aleady said he won't be trying to sign fulham players.
good to set the rest of the non-english dross on that list being moved on and giving some of the lads from the accademy a chance to actually push for the first team
Might of been slow Emp but he was a big factor in our best finsih and points total in the prem ever. He had a bad season last season. I would stick with him to be honest as he does give us genuine width which we drastically lacked last season.
i don't think he was a big factor, he was alright for a few games , what we missed was alonso,the only player we had with a football brain. rafa gave us a lobotomy because he was jealous of alonso and wanted to instill his mindless drone type footy into the club over genuine footballing class.

i think get rid of mash 25m, babel 9m, riera 5m, ngog 5m, el zhar FREEEE, deggen 100k, the greek 1m, and bring in turan 15m, a young striker 12-15m, banega 8m, oh and a lb hmm.... lets just say for the fun of it evra...
I wholeheartedly agree Kyrgiakos should be kept, he was a real bargain and good squad player. Today has been great, a fantastic signing and general optimism for the future - I'd almost forgotten what it felt like to experience these things! Now Roy, persuade Masch to stay and you're well on the way to legend status before a ball has been kicked in anger.
