So let's say for arguments sake he comes in. We had 15 mil budget anyway, so between 10-12 is still left over. That 12 million is on the table for Arda Turan, which as good and as perfect a fit as he is, is 3rd priority. We already now have Jovanovic, Babel, Kuyt and Reira. Gervinho is looking to sign for 6 mil, which leaves 5 million over for whatever. So the Arda deal will come after the left back.

If Masch is sold for 25-30 million which he should be then Arda will be on his merry littl Turkish way to us !!

12M for arda turan? You must be crazy. We'll be lucky to get him 15-20M atleast with todays Man city market.

we've been dsperate for another striker for about a season so i'd be happy to see the bulk of the budget spent on one. im not sure of Remy as I haven't seen much of him but he's surely a step up on ngog and with Torres potentially missing the start of the season another striker is a must.

if you take into account that we have also signed Jovanovic and Roy has stated he sees him as a wide left player then id be inclined to think that either reira or babel must be off. either would raise us 6-8m for the transfer pot that could then be used to reinvest in another LB or two depending on what happens with insua.

if gerrard or masch had been sold id expect to see the bulk of the money received spent on a direct replacement with the change going into the aforementioned pot to reinvest in LB. add in £1-2m or so for each of the likes of spearing, cavaleri, degan, el zahr, plessis, itandje and nemethand you could easily raise another £7-10m without really loosing anything from the strength of the squad. (except we'd need a back up to pepe)

also it's already been stated that yossi's transfer fee went towards paying off rafa and signing roy so i wouldn't count any of that in potential transfer budgets.

Why are we all assuming that the money from sales will go back on the squad. If you read a lot of what Dunk is putting up on the news pages, Purslow is just asset stripping and we'll end up with next to nothing next season.

So, whats afoot? Asset stripping, money to buy players, new owners who the [oops] knows. All I know is my head is getting doen in and I think Imight have to return to sanity and the real world and have a football holiday.

At the end of the day you don't spend x amount on purchasing a club and then to be told that it wont include the likes of Gerrard & Torres. I'd be pretty [oops] off and would re consider!!

To be honest Trepie I have to agree with you. Everything that is going on seems to be the opposite of what is happening.
