Don't know whom were available for the team selected. But I prefer to see JOVANOVICH, AQUA, RIERA and BABLE got a chance.

do you all think that aqualani's best position is holding midfield? or are you just curious to see him play there because its most like the area he will break into the team? i dont think he could manage playing there on his own though but its worth experimenting a few players in different positions. i would keep the 2 holding midfielders it provides cover when the full backs bomb on and emulates our first team with johnson and insua (if he stays)

im not expecting too many of our world cup participants making the team sheet, even the ones that didnt play much like babel because he arrived in holland just a day or 2 ago. players from teams that got knocked out in the group stages are more likely to feature.
i would like to see pacheco given a full game 45mins striker and 45 centre forward. we have to see shelvey in the centre forward role he looks like a quality young player. maybe give spearing, plessis, amoo, darby a run out too
