It would be great to land either one of these. But does anyone know their transfer value? I reckon Michael Johnson could turn out to be the "next Gerrard" if he was given a chance. Surely worth Roy considering if affordable. I think its fair to say either of their chances of 1st team football is zero this season except for League cup.

Why get a bunch of rejects from a team SPLASHING THE CASH on world class players?

Because:
a) we are not able to 'splash the cash on world class players'
b) Johnson & Ireland may want to leave because of the arrival of these 'world class players' and we should at least consider them if the policy is buying British
c) Gerrards not getting younger and we have no potential replacements on hand for when he's injured or off-form.

I think S Ireland is a w***er but he is a great player and i am shocked how badly he is getting treated by Mancini, I would snap him up if the price was right as he is a Quality player even with his crazt taste !
