sorry to disappoint you mate just being realistic, until we sell some players we dont have the biggest transfer kitty. we are being linked with figueroa alot lately, seems likely to happen...

as long as we bring in somebody who can defend it will be an improvement on what we already have. sylvinho would be the equivalent to phillip degen in our side, nothing but a back up player. do we really have the cash to spend all of our transfer kitty on 2 leftbacks, £5million figueroa, that leaves us with £7million.

i agree i do like coentrao naturally a left winger but looks solid at left back, out of our price range until we offload mashcerano.

david luiz is a centre back, again probably out of our price range, he can play at left back but its definatley not his best position imo

if we make the most of what we have got and sign some players with prem experience i would be pleased as long as it improves the team

he the fella we were linked with last summer? the one who ended up at porto i think...

But the most bizarre thing about the Lucas situation is that according to other LFC websites it is Purslow who is in charge of the deal and not Roy as it was initiated before Roy became manager.

Now this may be another rumour but if it is true what does that say about the club?

Well perhaps it means Purslow has more of an eye for a player than Rafa lol! Seriously, I can't believe that CP is selling players without RH say so. I can't see RH as a wily old campaigner that he is, buying into that sort of arrangement. Seems like they showed an interest on Lucas way before RH arrived so maybe CP has been leading on negotiations. Would we be sad to see Lucas, El-Zahr or Insua go? If it meant keeping Masch and being able to put money towards Warnock and SWP I'd be bloody over the moon!

we've been linked with him in the past. seems like a good player with great potential...

I have heard a lot about him over the past couple of years. He is a very good attack minded player, my only concern is that we have Gerrard, Aquilani and Maxi who are very similar. Not to sure were Defour would fit in, especially if Gerrard stays.
