It is now plain for everyone to see why Klopp tried so hard to sign Tchouameni from Monaco in the summer. When they lost out on him they wanted to spend £85m on Federico Valverde from Madrid. That did not happen and we ended up with Arthur Melo who has only played 15mins.
So clearly Klopp anticipated the problem we now have, tried to address it but ended up with Melo who clearly has not worked out.
Which players should we be looking for in January to save our season? Think it needs to be someone in their mid twenties who has the legs to do what Henderson/Gini and Fab were doing a few seasons ago when we won the title.
Declan Rice anyone?
The first player we wanted to sign in the last window was a midfielder who then chose Real Madrid. What baffles me is that we ended up getting a failure on loan to solve our first priority, as if there was no other player we could sign and Klopp opened his big mouth saying he had 9 midfielders. Fk them all including Klopp, he could have put pressure easily on FSG to get what he wants popular as he is. But no, he would rather play safe with the owners. We are just getting what the club deserves.
