I am going out on a limb and gonna say that Roy Hodgson is the new Bob Paisley.

Hear me out on this. He is mild mannered, softly spoken and everyone who has ever worked with him has said he is pure class.

He has undounted ability as a manager, and I think that he is just what we need at the moment.

In his press conferences so far he has come across as the real deal. I know that he will be judged on performances, but I like that he is only interested in the football and happy to leave the rest up to others.

Call me naive, but I have high hopes for the coming season and before you ask, no I am not on any prescription medication.

What does everyone else think?

I'm with you. I think he is exactly what we need after the over defensive Houllier and over analytical Benitez. I have a positive feeling about the next couple of years.

He was not my first choice and I'm not sure how entertaining our games will be this season but I'm strangely optimistic.

I just hope he's not too cautious away from home - I don't want to be seeing 1 striker on his own up front away to Wolves, for example.

I think he will keep us in the top 6 season

Ditto both of the above.

He may not be the 'World Class' Manager, people were hoping for - Guus Hidink, Jose, etc, but as far as I have seen so far, he makes the right noises and looks like he will fit in well.

Roll on 12 months and see where we are - hopefully back in the Champions League, with new owners and some fresh English talent, gracing the hallowed turf of Anfield.

I like the noise he has made so far, but I think the proof will be the performance of our team on the pitch.

he's a bit of fresh air. his methods and personality is the total difference to the previous manager and that is exactly what we needed. i just hope it works out well for him and the club.

i hope he does well. he will get the best out of the players which is what rafa compeltely failed at. hopefully he will not continue with the zonal marking crap and the defensive play and will hopefully go for it every single game.

Depending on players we sell/buy, i am interested to see what starting formation he goes with. If we stay with the same team, i wouldnt be surprised if he starts with babel on the left and pacheco up front with nando.

I couldn't agree with you more, he is a very intelligent and vastly experienced manager. He has been loved everywhere he has been, so much so in fact, Inter wanted him back before Mourinho took over. In the press conference he seemed to say everything I wanted to hear, I know he has to turn his words into actions this season, but I have all the confidence in the world in him. I have always respected Roy Hodgson and truly thought he deserved the LMA manager of the year award last season, he turned Fulham around so let's hope he can do the same with us after a dismal season last year.
