I've been away for a while and never really followed the transfer window or the start of the season, I watched the Utd game, we looked so poor. The club continues to make strange decisions. One day my brother told me Mane is going to Bayern and I laughed thinking it was one of those crazy rumors but it happened not for 80m, 90m like most star players are going for these days but we sold the African footballer of the year for 30m which is incredibly low. Reminds me of the Wijnaldum fiasco he was our best midfielder but we sold him because of a stupid wage dispute that he actually deserved. Everyone can see that Firmino has been running empty for 3 seasons now, he barely contributes so he should of been sold not Mane who is one of our star players and major contributors. To make matters worse, the club trimmed the squad down with other departures and this is when the 5 sub rule was finally introduced. Embarrassing Klopp was a huge advocate for the rule to come in so why trim the squad? We looked incredibly strong last season for the first time in many seasons, our bench was stacked and full of game changing qualities but this club doesn't like to build football dynasties it seems.

The club also played 65 odd games last season so these players are extra tired which makes the trimming even more puzzling. I don't know what to make of these bizarre decisions, this season isn't looking great already, you can tell something is off.

It's f.cuking embarrassing to go from such highs last season to the bottom of the barrel this season. Our paltry transfer budgets were always going to catch up with us sooner, rather than later. There is only so much a top Manager can do with the tools given to him.

I'd like to know just when is this new Academy going to start producing talent to push the first teamers? Our methodology makes no sense and is scattergun when it comes to younger players. We pounce on other Academies players when there is any potential conflict or dispute. There seems to be no real plan of cultivating local talent. We've had one success story in recent years in TAA and maybe a 1/2 success story in Curtis who has gone into his shell and is nowhere near the player he once was.
I don't count Harvey Elliott as he is a fairly recent acquisition and tbh i think he's sh..ite and should never be near the first team.

Klopp has a week and a half to beg and barter with FSG, otherwise our season is over and likely no CL next season.

Agree except that we cannot be tired at the start of the season.

Big mistake selling Mane and giving Salah a huge contract. Big mistake letting Gini go.its only a matter of time until Klopp tires of trying to compete on a shoe string budget. And when he goes we're f£cked.

Klopp looks tired of the situation considering what he said in his interview, ie, he would like to buy a midfielder but it is not his decision. I really don't understand where the money is going, we must have had record revenues last season after coming 1st or 2nd in every competition. Otherwise I don't understand why Milner started ahead of Fabinho

Fabino, must not be fully fit or maybe has a niggle. Only reason I can think. Midfield was [oops]. Elliot tried to make things happen, but he is not good enough to be playing in these games yet. Henderson showed no composure in the final third.

Klopp also needs to change the formation to suit the players he has avaliable, not just constantly keep with the same set up no matter what.

But who does he have available worthy of a start in a new formation?

Why did Fabhino start on the bench?

He must have been injured?
