One thing that stood out for me last night was that we were forced to start with 36 year old James Milner. When he tired we replaced him with Jordan Henderson who is carrying an injury.

Naby Keita was on the bench having returned from injury but not deemed fit enough to participate.

It’s now four years since Naby moved from Leipzig but it always seems to be the same old story with his injuries never really allowing him to make a sustained contribution to the team.

Last night we could really have used the player who Klopp had so much faith in when he signed him. After four years of not delivering he now really needs to step up and prove his worth.

He’s a waste of time and needs to be moved on. Thiago is great also when fit but he’s injured more often than he plays. Keita we are lucky to get 10% of a season

Klopp has been employed to develop players and increase their value, and he loves it that way. Otherwise we wouldn't have relied on 2 teenagers yesterday. Now that we can make 5 changes per game our squad is smaller after we sold Mane, Origi and Minamino buying only Nunez. For me Carvalho is for the future. Winning trophies is more of an achievement than a goal

Difficult to see Naby getting too much game time assuming Melo stays fit.

We have the 5 subs rule in PL now and opportunities in CL, FA Cup, and The League Cup. Our midfield is not consistent and is ravaged by injuries, there'll be ample opportunity for the cream to rise to the top.

Our recruitment has relied heavily on individuals for a set best XI and we invariably suffer because of this. We need competition for places in every department of the squad because our rivals are getting stronger.

Man City have never had a set best XI, Pep's recruitment has been to have similar quality in most places it's why they are dominant over the course of a PL season. Yes, we can have cup runs but it bites us on our a..ss in the PL.
