FSG get a lot of negative press on this forum but you just have to contrast the Mane and Pogba situations to see how well they are at running the club.

Mane was signed six years ago for circa £30m on a wage of about 100k per week.He has been a superb servant for the club and been instrumental in us winning basically everything there is to win. Looks like he now off to Bayern at a fee exceeding his original purchase price.

Utd signed Pogba for £90m the same year and have been paying him something like £400k per week. In that time he has done pretty much nothing for the club and now he is leaving on a free transfer.

FSG have transformed this club and we very lucky to have them as our owners.

I wouldn't put this down solely to FSG, Klopp has to take a lot of the credit. Since Klopp arrived we've not had any explosive negative press regarding the players and his acquisitions have been phenomenal. I do remember how the club handled the Suarez situations poorly under FSG's watch.

I'd be interested to see what happens when Klopp eventually goes and if FSG are still around.

Agreed Pickles but it was FSG who took the bold move of sacking Brendan Rodgers and getting Klopp on board.

Klopp must be the most valuable hiring in the history of football but it was FSG who did it and backed him.

You can always get it right with trial and error, wasn't Klopp their 3rd manager? Coming back to this window, are you convinced we have improved with changing Mane for Nunez when our weakness last season was the midfield. I am sure City are luckier than us when it comes to owners,I am convinced they have improved their title winning team further

My criticism of FSG has not been about their management efficiency but their investment in the club which has been at the minimum. In recent years things have changed more so with state sponsorship in the premiership we are relying on klopps brilliance to cover up FSG,s model

For the amount of money we have gained via PL, CL and now domestic cup comps and tv rights, we really haven't spent anything!
All our spending on players revolves around what we can sell. Unless we have a stocked Academy it's going to catch up with us sooner, rather than later.

If you compare Mane with Pogba I think you need to realize it´s not just FSG but also the person Mane. He could have done like Pogba and decided like Salah to stay one more year and go for free but he is the honest guy. Not the public figure Pogba is.

I do not think Mane and Pogba can be compared at all, completely different people, I know who I would prefer to be in my team !!!

But he is also reportedly earning over £300K a week at Bayern from this move, compared to a reported £100K a week with us, I know he does allot for charity/his community, but that is a huge rise! I was surprised he was not getting more from us, also at how much Bayern are paying him at 30.

He has been my favourite player under Klopp and his signing always felt like the start of the change for me under the Klopp era, so good luck to him, sad to see him leave, but I think it makes sense all round, I understand why FSG would not match the Bayern deal.
