Sadio Mane 'agrees three-year contract' with Bayern Munich with talks over fee underway

Sadio Mane appears to have walked out at Anfield as a Liverpool player for the final time as the Senegal international has agreed a three-year contract with Bundesliga champions Bayern Munich.

It looks like the end of the road for Sadio Mane and Liverpool

Liverpool ace Sadio Mane has reportedly agreed a three-year contract at Bayern Munich with talks now underway between the two clubs to finalise a transfer fee.

The Senegalese forward, 30, is eyeing a new challenge after seeing his £393k-a-week wage demands rejected by the Reds hierarchy. With Mohamed Salah in line for a bumper new contract, Mane was also keen for a sizeable increase in his pay packet, but Liverpool brutally snubbed his advances.

He now seems destined to leave after six seasons on Merseyside with Bayern Munich his preferred destination. Amid reported interest from PSG and Real Madrid, Mane wants to be considered the star man and therefore a switch to Bavaria is his number one choice.

The former Southampton winger has just one year remaining on his current deal and Liverpool would rather sell this summer than let him walk out the door for nothing in 12 months' time. According to reports on social media, it seems Mane's move to east Germany has taken an early step forward.

Boasting 300,000 followers on Twitter, Liverpool account @DaveOCKOP reports that the Senegal international has agreed a three-year deal at Bayern after enjoying a detailed chat with manager Julian Nagelsmann. Official talks are said to have opened on Tuesday and it is now down to the two clubs to finalise a transfer fee.

Liverpool will command £30million for one of their prized assets but that is not expected to be a problem for Bayern. The move could even progress fairly quickly from this point forward. It means the chances of Mane walking out at Anfield next season are next to none.

The 30-year-old has become an integral figure in Jurgen Klopp's high-pressing system and his departure will undoubtedly come as a huge blow to the Merseyside outfit. However, the Reds do already have a readymade replacement in January signing Luis Diaz.

Klopp was also given monetary assurances over summer signings before penning his two-year extension. Mane's departure was discussed as a possibility with plans already in place regarding a replacement.

I'm on the fence about Nunez, he's had 1 very good season at Benfica and for in the region of 100m, seems overpriced.

Both Mane and Salah want to have a big wage for their last biggest contract and when you see what other players are paid, it's not difficult to understand. That said, the good thing is that we are not over reliant on one player, so we do have options on the market. It is clear that we are second tier when it comes to spending/wages.
