Mane wants to go to Bayern and Ledwandowski wants to leave Bayern.

Liverpool need a finisher and Ledwandownski is one of the best in the business.

Swap deal could work for all parties?

Stranger things have happened.

That would be my thoughts on this.

Maybe the finer details are being ironed out as we type? It does not make sense to allow Mane to go without getting a replacement in. Klopp knows Lewandowski because of their time together at Dortmund so there really ought not to be the usual trying to convince the player to come.

Man City getting Haaland in is upping the fine tuning to their squad. We have a similar situation where all that fine attacking work / chances is not being finished off and like Man City, Klopp believes we need a proper finisher?

Even at 33 Lewandowski (soon to be 34 in August) he is one of the best finishers and has been for a long time. Getting him in would be a coup for us because he is a player our younger players can learn from.

All those chances in CL Final and we have Lewandowski on the pitch, we win that game.

Good post Pickles.

Liverpool seem like the logical switch in this situation but I wonder is his age the killer. Klopp/FSG don’t usually go for a player close to the end of his career but he would be the perfect fit for probably a couple of seasons.

Lewandowski's Agent Pin Zahavi was banned in March by English FA from conducting business in England for a few months. He is also Nkunku's Agent from Leipzig who a few PL Clubs have been linked with including us...this could be a factor in what is going on now?

Looks like Lewa wants to go to Barca and Klopp said in the past that he doesn't like buying his former players about Abameyang. I would love Lewa to be signed though

Barcelona have an FFP ban hanging over them. The details are grey if you read the media - some are saying they can't buy players which would mean they can't get Lewandowski. Some media are saying that it will be the next 2 transfer windows after this summer window. They also haven't been able to register the free transfers of Christensen from Chelsea or Kessie from AC Milan.

They also have to sell players before they are able to buy and were hoping to get rid of Frankie De Jong to Man Utd, but De Jong wants to stay at Barcelona and fight for his place. They were also looking to offload Dembele whose contract is up the end of this month to free up their wage roll.

Knowing FSG we are in for Dembele on a FREE and waiting to see what happens with Kessie because if Barcelona can't sign Kessie, we'll be in for him quicker than a rat up a drain pipe... because he's on a FREE!
