So reports have it that we are leading the race for Tchoumaeni along with Madrid. Think he would be a good signing for us. As of now our midfield options are:
Fabinho - great player but against the top teams that press hard and play quick he sometimes look off the pace and gets bypassed
Thiago - our best midfielder. Does everything well imo
Hendo - I like him and he is probably in his peak or slightly past his peak and still good. Works hard, passes well - not flashy but effective. I don't like Fab + him vs teams that press as they both can't handle pressure well.
Milner - utility player more for backup to fill a variety of positions. Not a starting 11
AOC - probably leaving this summer. Sadly it didnt work out, he was on paper the kind of player that could carry the ball and be the one who turns defense into attack
Keita - watched every game of his this season and I have NEVER, not even once thought "oh wow we have a player". Supposed to be similar to AOC as a box to box type but his decision making just isn't good enough when he doesn't have time
Elliot - early on in the season I thought he would develop into a Bernardo silva type player. I think it could be due to injury but in the few cameos he made towards the end of the season he hasn't looked good. Still young though with alot of time to develop.
Jones - not too sure what his purpose on the field is. He doesn't win the ball particularly well, nor dribble, pass, shoot particularly well. Probably an option as fresh legs who does things at an acceptable level
I think Cavarlho who we just signed, assuming he's as good as his Youtube videos, would probably be right next to Keita in the pecking order behind Fab/hendo/Thaigo. Looks to possibly be a great signing but I think we would need at least 1 more signing as AOC will probably be leaving and likely Milner or Jones.
I would prefer someone offensive minded - Iniesta/Xavi types that link up well with the forwards. As we all know too well by now we struggle against back 5s with 3 in the middle as our forwards don't have space to get in behind and their 1st touch sometimes lets them down. Having a goal threat from midfield will help alleviate this issue somewhat.
Would like to know who you all would sign.

Would like to know who you all would sign. Good discussion and agree with a lot though I would say Tiago is quite inconsistent and makes silly mistakes every now and then. Also, I think Jones will be a great player, he is very comfortable with the ball and dribbles well, I rate him more than Eliott. And yes, we need another midfielder, but not the Silva type, we need a bit more defensive player but who can score from range. We need a defensive midfield because our full backs are always attacking. As for Tchouameni, looks like he is sure to go to Real, maybe we need a Declan Rice who score more goals

Connor Gallagher may be more attainable than Rice.

Connor Gallagher may be more attainable than Rice. Yep, not a bad call. Is he not owned by Chelsea?

Tchoumaeni and his Agent has been playing both Real Madrid and Liverpool to push his price up with him supposedly having agreed terms with both clubs!
With Bellingham staying put in Germany for another season and Declan Rice price being ridiculous, we do need to bolster our midfield for next season. I've watched a few PSV games this season and have been impressed with Sangaré, he does get booked a lot though but he won't cost the earth and would slot right into our midfield.

RM also have more available money now they have missed out on Mbappe, so they will probably be willing to pay over the odds for Tchoumaeni. We have always been linked to Tielemans, so he maybe a target still, there is talk of a £25 million fee now that he appears to want to leave and will not sign a new deal, so for that money for a 25 Year old with plenty of PL experience, he would be a good buy. Also talk of Maddison leaving, but he appears to be abit of an idiot from some of the things I have read about off the pitch, so doubt we would be interested in him, apparently City are interested at £70 million which seems odd to me as they have plenty of number 10 Attacking Midfielders, but Pep does like to collect them!

i like curtis jones tho, disagree with u on that.. he needs a run of games, maybe a loan to villa or someone.. he was awesome for us think it was against porto. he is a passer and he will get more effective the more games he gets. keep him(maybe loan)

I think he has a big future with us. With the 5 subs next season, I would rather keep him, he should get more appearances, especially with Hendo/Milner getting older and Ox likely to leave, there will be allot of rotation with the mid season World Cup, so I think we will keep more players with the squad rather than loaning them.
