I will congratulate them not for being the best but for being able to keep up with US and beat US this season because we have been phenomenal.

We have made 3 cup finals and have lost 3 games all season to this point. The quadruple looks like it may be gone but nobody has ever got within 180 mins of it.

I don't think there was one game this season where we didn't turn up. The two league defeats we missed a pen in one and in the other West Ham should have been down to 10. Incredibly we have been unable to beat any of the other top 4 teams in the 6 games against them so If you are adding up the draws and say we draw too many check the calibre of opposition first.

Just for those who hold on to that belief this can still happen we have had some luck towards the end of the PL season. Most of this came in the City game at West Ham. Firstly West Ham did not make the Europa League final so you can imagine the reserve side that would understandably have been smashed by City on Sunday with the Europa final being played tonight. Of course there was the Mahrez penalty miss but also the fact that City drew rather than lost may inevitably be the single biggest factor. Had they lost 2-0 which was the HT score then we would have been 5 behind on GD with 2 games to play. Now think how many City could rack up v Villa. Even if it were to be a regulation 3-0 win in all probability we would have needed 9 or 10 goals v Saints and Wolves and then taken an absolutely knackered squad to Paris v RM.

The way this has worked out so far has been nothing short of a miracle. Events on Saturday with tired legs and a couple of injuries forced Klopp to turn to other players to get a result and they stood up to the test against a fully rested Southampton side who had not played for 9 days.

The next bit is just as implausible as getting this close. We now pray that Villa get something v City having played a desperate Burnley on Thursday night. Why our game was not on Weds this week or even the Villa/Burnley game on Weds too I really cannot explain. This bit sticks in my throat because it's not as though Villa and Burnley have been playing midweek almost every week for the last 3 months or had cup finals that could have (AND DID) go to extra time and penalties. It makes no sense. We have done our bit and got to 89 points with one game to go.

The best team (whichever it is) will always win the PL. The better team this season however will always be Liverpool.
Enjoy the ride over the next 10 days.

One draw too many will probably end up costing us, probably against Brentford

Yes we drew at Brentford and home to Brighton. We led in both. 2-0 v Brighton actually. But if anyone wants to say that is where we lost the title they want to give their heads a wobble.

Whoever wins, neither team lost the title, a team won it under intense competition, in any other era the runner up would have won the title with their points tally.

So which draw were we in a better position to win?

For Christ's sake Vish don't you ever stop?

Of all the draws we had we were probably better off in the Brighton one but for me the lack of red cards for West Ham away and for Kane away to Spurs were crucial as those are games we would have won.

VAR has not been a friend as much as people would like to make out.

My point is this team has turned up pretty much 61/61 times this season.

That's your opinion, I don't think we turned up 61/61 times this season, in fact, no team does. But the game we shouldn't have drawn IMO is against Brentford and you need to be almost perfect to beat City to the title, not my word but Jurgen's
