I think it will be best for both parties if he went, he would guarentee playing time and also should toughen him up for us when he comes back.

According to CaughtOffside.com, Liverpool manager Roy Hodgson has put Bayer Leverkusen striker Stefan Kiessling at the top of his list of targets.

The website believes Hodgson wants a striker who could be a good foil for Fernando Torres, and could also take the goalscoring burden off the Spanish striker.

Kiessling is a tall centre forward at 6ft 3 and scored 21 goals in the Bundesliga for Leverkusen last season, finishing second in the goalscoring charts to Wolfsburg's much in demand striker Edin Dzeko.

Kiessling is 26 years of age and was part of the Germany squad that got to the semi-finals of the World Cup.

Although he only made one substitute appearance in South Africa, the German striker is a very capable footballer, and although he is a very good target, he is also very mobile, and likes to come deep and move out wide to use his pace.

At £14million though, a deal would most likely only be done if players departed Anfield this summer.

I personally think we have enough players now Jovanavic has signed that can play upfront with Torres.. ( Jova/Kuyt/Babel). With the limitted budget i'd focus on LW,RW and LB although Jova/Babel can play LW but i dont think thats their best position!! Obviously if we have more funds then go for a top striker.. any thoughts????

Get a new LB and LW if we can keep all our players (maybe Ngog on loan and sell riera) then yes could have a pretty good squad for next season.

i think he's a good lb and me personally would be happy if we signed him.

What kind of fee would we be lokking at?? 4/5m? or more? Insua also linked with move to Fiorentina for 5m so would be case of 1 in and 1 out!!
