Quite surprised that there are so many bidders for around 3 Billion and they have a relatively small stadium, is it because they are in London? We were struggling to get buyers for 200m and it's not like we were fighting relegation.

I posted about this a week or two ago not only a lot of interest but they seem good owners too

Pretty sure if FSG put Liverpool up for sale there would be no shortage of bidders

A large part of the price is because it is in prime real estate territory.

Chelsea FC does not own the pitch, so they cannot sell the ground for development/housing etc as in effect it is owned by 13,000 fans, so whoever buys Chelsea cannot just move the club and sell the ground, as the pitch is leased to Chelsea FC.

Makes the bid value for the club very high?

But there were very few bidders for us to buy from H&G and we had recently won the CL then, had Gerrard and,Torres and came 2nd in the league a couple of years before that. I also see a lot of the bidders in consortiums with Chelsea rich season tickets holders, so make me think that it must be particular to Chelsea. That said, with our much bigger stadium and recent successes, we should be worth at least 2.5 Billion

I think Roman bought the pitch back from the pitch owners association a few years ago.

He tried to buy it when they were looking to buy Battersea Power Station, but they did not get enough votes to sell (75%), so it is still owned by CPO.
