Struggling against low block teams and teams down to 10 men and sitting behind the ball.

I don't think it's time to throw the baby out with the bathwater but it's getting to the point where we as fans need to know where the bottleneck is happening.

There is a limiting factor stopping our progression at the moment and it would be good to know where we need some change. I'm more on the side of the manager but if it's Klopp that can't see we need some exciting signings then that's his own fault.

If we fail to have a big summer then I'm either klopp out or fsg out but I don't know what side of the fence to fall on.

If there is anybody who can put pressure on FSG, it would be Klopp, but I think he is already looking at moving on at the end of his contract. I don't think he wants to be the greatest manager like Pep wants for example.

If Klopp wins nothing more with Liverpool, he will go down as a legend for winning the PL & CL, while up against a juggernaut with unlimited funding.

Klopp has always been happy to with work what he was given, being a well run, self funded club, but he must have said to FSG that by running the club that way, it will be very difficult to compete with the likes of Man City, which it has proved to be.

FSG appear to be happy with CL qualification, that drives/maintains the value of the club and their potential profit when selling, that's why they were so keen on the Super League with guaranteed income. FFP really scuppered FSG's plans, as they thought it would be a level playing field and they knew they could increase our income through much better business models/deals etc, which meant we would be one of the top clubs in the PL.

Klopp is the best manager we could get IMO, I cannot see a manager doing more with the resources he was/has been given. FSG need to back the team and fund it, or sell up and take their profit and leave us with someone who will fund the team to match our rivals, unfortunately I cannot see either happening.

Agree with much of this.

Klopp has been fantastic hands down. My annoyance which I'm not sure is Klopp or FSG related is just 1 addition to the midfield yesterday may have been the difference between another final or not.

Just as a crazy example obviously but if we thought about having coutinho yesterday we get goals in that game I'm 90% sure of it.

Yep, a midfield of Hendo, Firmino and the ageing Milner has zero creativity and Minamino cannot be relied upon to score goals in front, so not scoring shouldn't surprise anybody

I thought it was odd we started with Milner, at home against a team we knew was struggling with player availability I was expecting we would be more attacking, starting with Jones or Ox, Milner is good to bring on towards the end of the game when we want to close it down and block out a team, but to start with him puts us on the back foot IMO.

The soundbite immediately after the game is that we drew because we were without Mane and Salah - but we have seen this game countless times WITH Mane and Salah. I think this is a midfield problem - they are not creative nor do they chip in goals. Also, our fullbacks were poor - and we played Jota out of position, which compounded our problems.

Right with a lot of this.

Much of our creativity comes from the full backs with midfield being the workers. This works most of the time but to be good enough most of the time isn't going to win trophies. Again I repeat in games such as yesterday we needed a bolt from the blue in midfield, someone to shoot reliably from outside the box, that's why with someone in the build of Coutinho/Maddison or something wins us that game hands down. And you are right that we have seen these games even with our first 11.

Nothing is done yet and I'm still confident that 9 times out of 10 we beat Arsenal but yesterday just went begging, just a single mid figure investment yesterday wins us that game and gets us to a final, I'm starting to get really frustrated that whoever is in charge of signings always gets to the point of 'that will do' rather than ok how do we make the squad better.

This won't be the last time we struggle with scoring against a low block team so if we can all see it why isn't it getting addressed.

I've said this about 10 times now, we can all see it, surely klopp can see it too, our midfielders are all the same type, warriors yes but there is no dear I say it Coutinho there or an Oddegard at Arsenal. We need a no. 10 midfielder to create, to drive at defenses and to make killer passes to our attack. All our midfielders are one dimensional and as a result we struggle to break down opponents.

The biggest problem under FSG is us keeping players for far too long who have not contributed enough or their abilities have eroded to the point they are struggling to even make the bench.

FSG have this problem of keeping players for far too long in the hopes they can sell on for profit when players are well past their sell by dates and are stinking up the club.

Our Academy has also been a huge failure when you compare it to the likes of Chelsea, City or even Arsenal. Other than Trent, I can't remember any other player in the FSG era that has come through the Academy to become an ever present in the squad?
