I think it comes down to what you want/expect, what we achieved in 2019 winning the CL and 2020 winning the PL, playing some of the best football I have seen, was something special, it was won by great management on and off the field, we weren't bankrolled by some Oligarch or an Oil State, we were self sufficient, which makes it even better, we punched above our weight compared to the budgets/spending of our rivals.

But that is very difficult to maintain/continue, you have to pay players more to keep them when they have become superstars like Sala/VvD/Hendo/Allisson etc, recruiting is more difficult as teams want more money for their players, and our rivals are trying to do the same trick, so it is not easy to go get cheaper players like Andy Robertson.

FSG have made it clear we spend what we earn as a self sufficient business, but when we are up against the likes of Man City and Chelsea who do not have to balance the books, plus Man Utd who have more resources, that is difficult to compete with.

The question is do we want to become the play thing of some Oligarch/sports washing state? I do not, I would rather have the occasional success under owners like FSG where we are ran as a self sufficient business, than some dodgy state sports washing its human rights image around the world.

Would you have stopped supporting the club if DIC, the Dubai company had bought us instead of the Americans? Would you have been unhappy to have such owners if we had the success City is having?

I was not happy that DIC wanted to buy us, I never said I would stop supporting the club, owners come and go, we ended up with H&G which was a disaster for different reasons, but I am happier with FSG owning us rather than Abu Dhabi or Saudi.

Arab despot regime, Russian oligarch or American speculator ?

Tough choice !

But that’s the modern game my take on it I don’t want to be like city or PSG throwing money at the problem. But nor do I want the penny pinching FSG corporate model.

FSG are holding the club back we have probably the best manager in the world and he is managing under restrictions. That’s not acceptable for me

I agree, there must be an in between, when you look at what Klopp and the staff have achieved with the money generated/spent, FSG should be backing them, even as businessmen/investors, they must realise a little invested, is generating huge return/success on the pitch.

We have a great team at the moment, which is ageing and needs investment, for the sake of a few key signings (not £100's millions) we could build on that success, FSG need to start to invest or sell up and take their profit, sadly I cannot see that happening as we are a big part of their holding, which is bringing in the investment to their group.

I think the question is, what is more acceptable. The worst despots are the Saudis, the others are much less, especially Abu Dhabi. I don't think anybody would have complained if we had City owners, look at Newcastle fans, haven't seen them mind too much with their new owners

Counting on loan to Villa and they only have to pay half his wages.

I wonder are Barca interested in buying any other of our players? Lol.

This is a great opportunity to see Stevie's man-management skills - can he get a tune out of Coutinho? It will be fun to watch.

big issue is that unless we get really lucky with transfers, i dont see us having the luxury of selling any of our top players for ridiculous money. We are more dependant on Salah now than we were on Coutinho, who was probably the deal of the decade for us.

As for FSG, I thank them for steadying the ship post G&H, but unless they are willing to bring out the chequebook to show their commitment to our continuing success, I would hope they could sell up and take their profits.

As for potential new owners, let's just see who pops up on the radar (if we ever get sold). Plenty of billionaires with money to spend. We are probably chump change to Elon Musk and other guys in that league.
