Klopp recently disclosed that the entire Liverpool squad is vaccinated (for solidarity!) - and seemed to suggest that players resisting vaccination are the problem here. Like a lot of people, he would like to see more pressure on those unvaccinated players - but from what I'm reading it is a legal minefield and probably impossible to accomplish. The NBA has put pressure on unvaccinated players but not allowing them to attend certain games (since US states have different restrictions) - and perhaps it would be hard for the premier league to follow suit.
But let's be clear - the unvaccinated are the problem here - they are the ones prolonging this pandemic. Most player covid cases are mild (or even unsymptomatic), especially 'break through' cases with vaccinated people getting the much more highly transmissible omicron. I think it is slightly precious of these millionaire players to publicly whinge about their safety when the rest of us have to get up and go to work every day. The focus seems to be about player safety when it should be more about the people they are likely to infect.
With the new vaccine passports and testing regimes for game admittance I think the games can go on. If we can find a way to bring down the number of vaccinated players as well then we can fight through this. If we stop the league now it won't come back until February at the earliest when the omicron surge has abated. We have to find ways to continue as this is going to be a feature of our lives for some time to come.
It is definitely not normal for young athletes to suffer from cardiac arrests or to die while playing their sport, but this year it is happening. All of these heart issues and deaths come shortly after they got a COVID shot.
Former Pro Matt Le Tissier Calls For An Investigation Into The Sudden Rise Of Football Players Suffering Heart Problems
Former England football player Matt Le Tissier has called for an investigation into the growing number of footballers suffering from sudden heart problems.
This comes after Manchester United’s Victor Lindelof, Napoli midfielder Piotr Zielinski, and Martin Terrier of French club Rennes were all struck with heart and breathing problems last week.
Le Tissier spoke in an interview with GB News about the matter.
“It’s been very concerning for me watching the sport that I love and I played for 17 years…in all that time that I played I never once saw any footballer leave the pitch because of heart issues.
Now I’m sorry, but if anybody can look at what’s happening now in the world of sport and say it’s normal for all of these people to be having heart issues, in football matches, cricket matches, basketball matches, any sport you wish, these people, the amount of people that are suffering is going through the roof.”
The former pro then went on to call for an investigation:
“It might not be to do with the vaccine, it may not be, but let’s have an investigation to find out what it is.”
Below is the interview - starts at 0:54 in:
The unusually large increase in players collapsing recently is leading to much speculation as to whether or not the COVID-19 vaccines are the cause of this frightening new trend.
Widespread vaccine mandates in sports around the world mean that professional athletes have been either forced to abandon their careers or get the jab, leaving them no option but to expose themselves to the potential risk these mRNA vaccines bring.

Yes, I am sure the players association can force an investigation
I'll start by saying I've had 2 jabs so far and plan on getting the booster at some point.
I really feel uncomfortable with mandating a medical procedure on people. If you don't want it for whatever reason there is no way you should be compelled to have it. However bizarre those reasons may be. I think it's completely normal to be weary of a new type of vaccine which we have no real long term data for yet.
We don't really know how long pandemics last for, spanish flu for instance was an initial 2 years followed by waves for a further 8 years.
Also I think he is slightly off the mark, you could say one of the reasons this new omicron wave has hit us is because we have hoarded our supply of vaccines and not given enough out to other parts of the world and hence omicron began in South Africa and then spread here. Do we go over the South Africa with a SWAT team to make sure they are doing their bit?
The majority of people in this country have already done their bit and got vaccinated, how many are actually unvaxed apart from kids? Do you go ahead and vaccinate kids even if they don't need it? That seems daft to me but I don't know the science on that.
I again highlight my point yesterday, the people clogging up our health service are drunks, alcoholics, mental health issues and so on. I can't believe how pissy everyone gets over something with such a low death rate and completely ignore major issue which get brushed under the carpet.

Despite the maybe low death rate, I think the main issue is the overcrowding of hospitals. This has happened almost everywhere

Actually South Africa told J&J & Pfizer to stop sending vaccines on November 24th because they had ample supplies - 16 million doses in the Country. Then that very same day Pfizer discovered the Omicron variant, guess where? South Africa!!!

So the scientist who discovered Omicron is lying then?
