Dare I say it but should Klopp be considering giving VVD a rest?

We are shipping in goals and he seems to be struggling to get back to his best. So far this season it has been him plus one in central defence.

Maybe it’s time to give Gomez a go or try another pair?

I don't feel it's time for that just yet, I think we were poor defensively yes but he still bossed most of his 1 v 1's and he is the leader and the best defender on the ball. So maybe just something to keep an eye on for now but I would say he stays.

I think Matip has looked abit more out of form, but TBF West Ham make it very difficult, I just think with their physical play and set pieces, it might have been worth to put Konate in for strength and power.

I thought Fab had a poor game as well, they were breaking through our MF to easily.

Allisson also had a poor game, with West Ham being renowned for their set piece work, it just appeared we hadn't really planned for them? like letting them get around Allisson, one of VvD or Matip should have been in there pushing Antonio & co out the way, Allisson should have just gone through them to clear the ball, if they all get clattered, the ref usually gives a free kick to the GK anyways.

Matip looked jittery all night and Fab slower than usual.
Konate may have been a better match for his speed and physicality.
but the midfield is the problem. getting bypassed too easily.

The corner for the first goal was one of those you could argue the toss either way as to whether it's a foul it or not.

The possible sending off in the 8th minute was a huge call that Pawson did not want to make. For the pundits saying it's too early in the game to send a player off all I can say is if they were on the end of that they would probably see it differently. It was a nasty reckless challenge. VAR looked at it for a possible red and the player escapes without a yellow. Is this because VAR is not there to advise on a yellow card? Am I right in thinking of VAR says possible red card that it is a red or nothing?

Two decisions in the first 8 minutes that had a huge bearing on the result. 0-0 after 8 minutes v 10 men I am sure would have produced quite a different result.

As for VVD?
Yes I would rest him. Since he has returned he has been on the go non stop for club and country. Hopefully Netherlands will secure WC qualfication on Saturday and he does not play on Tuesday. We should play him v Arsenal and then rest him for the CL game and even the Southampton game after that. That would give him a 10 day break before Everton away.

Dont think we deserved to win that WH game, yes we could if the red card decision went our way, but it would have been a lucky escape
