A team is built from the back. Last season we had our only three first team CBs out injured which had a knock on effect on the whole team. We couldn’t play a high line which hindered the attack and we had to take players out of midfield, Hendo and Fab to play at CB at times which massively effected the whole team. It’s extremely naive to think we lose all of our CBs and the only consequence is that we concede more goals, every single player from Alisson to Bobby will have been effected by this. This is why we couldn’t buy a win in Jan or Feb, eventually we found a new way of playing towards the end of the season and things went back to somewhat normal. If you build a house on poor foundations, it doesnt matter if the you spent 1M doing up the attic, it’s prob gonna collapse in on itself.
Just a disclaimer: I’m all for bashing FSG but don’t think your arguments here are very good.
So you want to say, because our CD was out we were missing chances? How does that stack up? Yes I can understand that we create less chances, but the title is, "How to score more goals" and you seem to say, by having a better defence. Have you seen the number of clear chances we are missing? Are you saying Origi, who is arguably our only senior centre forward, is the answer?
