Rhys Williams had a really good game last night, Nat Phillips had a good game against West Ham, so I would be happy with either of them playing along side Gomez or Matip if either is out, so should we now keep Fab in Midfield to help protect the back 4, rather than playing him as an emergency CB if they are available?

No idea. Good that I don't have to decide

Against City we need everyone to defend with their lives but we can also score against them like Leicester did. I think Klopp won´t trust Rhys or Nat in that game.

If Matip is fit, I'd start him with Gomez, if not, I'd prefer Rhys over Nat against City, as he is just abit more mobile against their speed/trickery from the likes of Sterling, Mahrez & Jesus (if he plays). but I think Fab being infront of the defense, helping protect them would be better than having him at CB. Fab also likes a goal against City, so that will scare them from MF.

Back in midfield for me, those boys shown they can play, obviously city will be tough but we only play them once for now and Matip should be back to start. Having Fabinho in defence stretched our squad, because he goes back there and it creates a hole in midfield, then forwards and wingers like shaq, Firmino, jota going midfield. Keep everyone in their preferred position.

I'd rather have Fabinho at CB if Thiago's back. As mentioned, Rhys and Nat might struggle more against tricky players (that are potentially prone to the odd dive..) so we need a cool head. If not, probably Gomez and Matip.
Just hope Jota starts and we sit back a little and counter-attack. A win would be a great statement and start to see us breakaway from the pack, but a draw still a good result.

If both Matip and Fabinho are fit they both play CB, Gomez has been a liability at times and his passing (if not sideways) is awful, whoever told him he could do Hollywood passes? Jota must start now, in his current form, bring Bobby on later.
If they are all good to go:
Alisson
TAA, Fabinho, Matip, Robbo
Hendo, Thiago, Wij
Salah, Jota, Mane

Jota's 2nd goal was assisted by Gomez with a Hollywood pass

i think Gomez has stepped up since Fab's injury. hope he keeps it up and not go back into his shell once Fab or VvD is back.
