Dejan and Lallana have left this summer, and then there's Costas coming in. That's our business so far.

But like for like we seem to be coming out a bit short from that equation, don't we? Don't we need another senior cb, with the injury prone Gomez and Matip in our ranks?

Getting rid of Lovren is my favourite bit of business so far.

That job interview was going so well until I realized I was fukked up on acid in the middle of a cornfield naked and talking to a scarecrow.

Clyne has also left, it was reported probably on about £75K a week, combined that must be around £300K a week off the payroll.

And getting money for someone who is no longer the quality player Liverpool FC was pretty good. No malice towards him but was a good deal all round and £90k a week off the wage bill too. Lallana was another 90k+ a week gone. That's £9m a year saved.

I actually don't think FSG are skint... I think they've made a decision to be cautious while the uncertainty of COVID19 rages on... and fans are absent from the ground. I think there will be a couple more squad tweaks but no major signings unless Wij decides to go to Barca. We are still trying to move players like WIlson and Phillips... but other fringe players (Grujic, Shaq) have expressed a desire to stay and fight for a place. Koumetio will be the 4th CB, with Fab able to fill in there too. We may also get a striker/winger depending what happens with Brewster and Origi. There may be a few teams spending big but a lot more are also being fairly cautious.

Teams which are serious about winning something are spending, I am not sure why we need to be more "cautious" than arsenal for example

Its the opposite, the likes of Arsenal/Chelsea need to take more risks to close the gap on us, we finished 33 points above third place, and that's with us not returning from Covid fully firing, we still have that team.

Maybe FSG are waiting to see how the window pans out, there is over a month left, so they can see how business go's.

Getting rid of players, and not getting in new ones, with others reinforcing is an incredibly stupid thing to do. Sure we can be cautious, but we've won multiple trophies, and have secured a huge deal with Nike - so why do we have to be more cautious due to COVID? Even wolves have forked out 35m on a player, and they are not even in Europe.

The players we need are the ones that improve the squad. By Lovren leaving I believe that improved the squad because defensively he was a very weak link. We all used to watch the games from behind the sofa whenever he started.

There may be another couple of signings but I don't see anybody coming in to dislodge the first choice XI. The youngsters we have are pretty decent and we need Jones, Williams, Brewster and Wilson to step up further. Any improvement this season by 3 of those 4 would be absolutely massive. And would be enough.
