We are the away team so prepare your eyes for the wonder that is our away green kit. Jokes aside, the club has not won this cup in 15 years, I know the wide majority consider this a friendly game with no stakes, but last season the game was very competitive and entertaining against City.

I think the game is very vital to our preparation to the league start but it would be nice to see the lads lift another trophy and continue this wave of trophies. Looking forward to the match.

The fact Arsenal are one of the few teams to beat us last season, that should motivate us, lots of changes by the sounds of it, I wouldn't risk VvD after his head injury, we need to set down a marker for the season, I would like to see Brewster start with first team regulars to see how he plays with them, so the likes of Mane, Salah & Keita.

We need to win this. It is another trophy against a side who beat us in PL due to 2 iffy bits of defending. Klopp has brilliant record overall v Arsenal so expecting us to score 2 or 3 today.

Start with our best 11 possible, get game won then bring on the subs. This is another trophy even it is The Charity Shield, we have to lay down a marker for the season ahead which is not far off from starting!

Teams will let us dominate and hit us on counters

That is a weakness imo, our strength is counter attacking but when a team sits back and gives us the ball and counters us we struggle a lot. Such a poor half, too slow going from side to side without any real attempts to attack with direct pace.

Missed the first half - heard it was poor. It's nice to win the CS but it's a glorified training match. Opener v Leeds is much more important.

Arsenal choked our flanks and we were awful the times we went down the middle. They've got to pay the money for Alcantara now, we need his invention and guile to give us more strings to our bow!

Moving the ball side to side and breaking teams down by pulling and stretching them is what we do best. Only City can do it better. But on a pitch that had already had a game played on it today that was not going to happen. The pitch had no pace. It looked like the grass was too long as well. Probably deliberated to the 2 games to be played on it. How women are allowed to play a game first on the hallowed turf before the season curtain raiser is an absolute mystery to me. Yes it is the same for both sides but blunted our game completely. We drew the match and lost the trophy.

The FA would never have allowed a women's international match to be played an hour before a world cup qualifier. All of this PC nonsense has gone too far.
