I see the club saying we will be in a bad financial shape because of Covid 19, but really? Our match day revenue for a year was 84m in 2019 and over 10 months which included CL games all the way. This season we are already out of the CL and would have missed 2 months of match day revenue, that's about 17m and with additional revenues because we are champions (tv and sponsorship) don't think we will be too far off if at all. I am sure we will end up being the most profitable club over the last 3 years and one of the lowest net spend.
The money is most probably going into the stand and training ground development which if true is not right, we should have taken a long term loan to finance that.

All clubs are scared of investing heavy and another big lockdown its the uncertainty that's the problem You mean going the whole season without fans, I am sure they will work out something like pay per view tv for games that wouldn't have been shown on tv. I mean, there will be a lot more clients than those who go to the stadiums and pubs, no? As I said, it represents 84m of revenues for a whole year and probably gross profits of approx half, that's the same as a CL qualification at most and clubs can get a big portion from additional tv money

not just fans sponsors and tv will impact its a lesser product without fans especially over long term

And they cant have PPV as it will destroy sky and BT's model. Shame as I would love PPV

Also global revenue, selling of shirts/kit/merchandise will be dropping as people are not shopping, particularly with the new Nike deal where we get a percentage of revenue from sales and a lower flat payment. LFC also have shops around the world, so they would have been shut, but sill have large overheads for Staff/rent etc.
Businesses budget for the worse case scenario, such as being knocked out of competitions in first round etc, but Covid-19 has been something no one could have budgeted for.
Is match day revenue just the ticket sales? or is it revenue from the stadium also, like drink/food/merchandise sales etc ?

Also, I think people are tolerating no crowds at the moment as there is no choice and its seen as short term. But if it was permanent I think the interest in the game would fall dramatically

Good to see nothing’s changed in a few weeks. We’re champions now though but you’re still moaning! If you’re really suggesting that all we will have lost through this is £17m from match day revenues then you’re beyond nuts. What about TV monies, sponsorships, merchandise etc. etc. I’ve seen reports that suggest premier league clubs could have lost up to £9m a week and with not playing for 12 weeks that’s a lot more than £17m. There is over £300m in rebates for TV companies to pay back although Sky have deferred their £200+m to the 21-22 season. Then if you consider planning for the future and that we may not see crowds back until half the season has gone that’s another chunk of match day and probably TV revenue gone. What if there’s another outbreak that stops next season too?

You are probably talking about when there were no games, since then games have started again, albeit without supporters thus, my calculation is on match day revenues. Yes, clubs were losing that much because there were no revenues at all, but with games televised,tv rights will continue and so sponsorships, unless you show me otherwise, I'll wait.

It's inconceivable that the game without fans played behind closed doors in silence won't impact the attractiveness of the game and hence sponsors / TV.
The sponsorship / TV deals today are in anticipation of the game restarting fully. If it does not you can count on some serious contract talks and renegotiation
