Amazon have now made the 4 games they have of this PL season free to air. That is on top of the 4 given to BBC and the 25 from Sky.

So we now have 33 games free to air when it kicks off. It will be be interesting to see which of the 3 platforms can offer the best coverage in empty stadiums.

The commentators are going to have to summon up all their powers to create an atmosphere. Some can compliment and echo a crowd but can they compliment just an echo?

I am hoping one of them will have a fan commentary box like Sky used to do back in the day. Or even have the option of watching from behind the goal again. So many ways they can get creative. Let's hope they do something for us watching at home so we can enjoy it more. I have tried watching a couple of German games but there hasn't been a lot to inspire me to stay tuned for more than 20 minutes. It is a different experience but not one I like.

As difficult as it is this really does represent an opportunity for something different. Perhaps we can have crowd noise in the background or even a mixture of crowd and pub. Maybe some music when a goal is scored. Not going to be to everyone's taste but a lot of these can be put in on an interactive button. The old playercam would work well with a ground full of echoes although some choice language may well get picked up.

With so much technology at their fingertips these companies have to pull out a!l the stops to entertain us. The ones that do will have us subscribing to services again.

The big games will have big audiences as normal but who wants to watch Burnley v Brighton without fans?

We are going to have changes with extra substitutions but is there anything the TV companies could do for you to make it a better watch?

I agree it is a time things can be tried, like crowd noise etc, I believe some broadcasters are using crowd noise on their broadcasts for the Bundesliga games, I have been watching a few games on BT but they are not using the crowd noise, without the crowd noise it really impacts the game IMO, feels abit like a reserve/youth game, so if you have no real interest in the teams playing, there isn't much point.

I will watch games like I have previously, I watch the Liverpool games and then I watch the big/rivals games when I fancy them, I watch the smaller games on highlights usually, judging by the amount of games they are playing, I think most people will dip in and out watching the games that interest them.

I have been using Hotmic abit while there was no football on, podcast groups like TAW have been commenting on old games like CL/FA Cup finals, they have been good and make it more interesting with their (partisan) in depth knowledge and opinions, so I will probably see if they are running commentaries on the Liverpool games rather than listen to SKY/BT/Amazon.

Interviews with the refs would be interesting, not to have a go, but just to let them explain their reasoning and decisions, rightly or wrongly, especially with VAR.

The sex dolls they put as the crowd in Korea were good, so more of them, but abit more imagination on their positioning, maybe Kyle Walker would jump over the advertising for a quick go at a corner !!!

I was on a website the other day and at an Australian game they had a cardboard cutout of Dr. Harold Shipman !!

I saw that the other day, fans could txt in their picture and they would print it out as a cardboard cutout, so they could attend the game, nice idea, but open for abuse........ best one I saw like that was a few years ago when the CL final was in Cardiff, Walkers did a promo where you txt in your pic and they put it on the big screen in/around the ground with Gary Lineker presenting..... what could ever go wrong ......

I'd be more interested in good quality camera work, showing the game close up, with regular scans of the pitch and posititioning overall. Also I'd like a good I depth preview, similar to what Sky do before kickoff. However I'm not sure if the free-to-air stations will be either interested or equipped to do much of that. I'd think the BBC are likeliest to get somewhere close, if they have the interest or inclination any more.
Anyway can't wait for the resumption, it seems like it's been forever!

BBC will not dedicate the time to pre-match, they will come on air 15 minutes before kick off and then wrap it up 10 minutes after full time.

Yeah, that's what I'm expecting too unfortunately. I'm not a fan of Sky for a variety of reasons, but they do a good job during, pre and post games. It might be an oppurtunity missed for the Beeb though, to make a pitch for additional funding for sport broadcasting. However given the current political and economic climate they'd probably be wasting their time, sadly.
