That’s because our owners don’t have the same level of money to burn. It’s pretty easy to grasp that one isn’t it? For sure not the same level but our owners are making Liverpool are not even spending what the club is generating. That's also easy to grasp for people who know how to read financial statements. What just because we didn’t buy last summer? Been a while since you moaned about that ain’t it. From figures I’ve seen we have the fifth highest gross spend in the last five years which shows we spend money. Where that money comes from is kind of irrelevant and it’s a strategy that’s not doing badly for us is it? I’d also suggest we buy exactly who Klopp wants. You want our owners to emulate a mega rich owner who is just about the only owner in the country that pumps their own money into their club. And cheats let’s not forget. Utd, Arsenal, Spurs and even the original ‘sugar daddy’ at the chavs aren’t really funded by their owners anymore. This isn’t a game of FIFA where you can just spaff money all over the place on players like you seem to want it to be.

It’s all to easy to overlook that for a few trophies and some over paid mercenaries. Who is the overpaid mercenary, Aguero for example? How is he a mercenary and how is he overpaid? Where did I say Aguero was a mercenary?

I am convinced that the majority of LFC fans would have been happy as well. City owners are at least making a big effort to make sure their club is successful while our owners are managing profits and their value. At least when the City fans are buying a shirt they know their owners are also spending their money unlike ours
I am sure allot of Liverpool fans (probably not the majority) would be concerned if we were bought by a country and used for sports washing, whatever money they spent and trophies they delivered. Abu Dhabi are spending their money to clean up their reputation, there is no love for Manchester City, the amount they have spent on City is a good investment for all the publicity and branding they receive globally. As has been said, FSG run Liverpool as a business, which is how it should be done, they have delivered success without breaking the spending rules and have improved Liverpool FC business to help deliver success. What bad publicity Abu Dhabi has, the only one I've seen is in the Dubai royal family? I rather think that for them as well it is a long term investment, their funds will dry up as fossil fuel dries up or become cheaper. Look what Chelaea was generating before Abramovic and now, look at the valuation of the club then and now, look at the global fan base and shirt sale then and now? Why do you think so many Americans have invested in the EPL, it is to make money, some look at it long term while others want their returns quickly especially if it is a leveraged but out like the United owners, they are the worst. There are lots of articles online about UAE: https://www.amnesty.org/en/countries/middle-east-and-north-africa/united-arab-emirates/https://www.hrw.org/world-report/2019/country-chapters/united-arab-emirateshttps://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Human_rights_in_the_United_Arab_Emirateshttps://www.theguardian.com/commentisfre...ritish-academicI agree, buying football clubs etc is great advertising and branding around the world, fossil fuels are running out, so they are trying to turn into tourist destinations with top hotels and resorts, similar to what Dubai have done and Saudi are also trying to do, they are using sports like football & F1 to raise their profile and present a shiny clean version of their states to attract tourism. But behind all this are migrant workers who are basically being used as slaves, they have their passports removed from employers, so they cannot even leave if they want to, these people are poor from the likes of India, Bangladesh & China, so no one is sticking up for them and it is easy for governments to turn a blind eye while selling arms etc to these states, UK government included. Journalists reporting on this are put under huge pressure and have been killed, as we have seen in these states. If you are not aware of this, it just shows how well their sports washing works. I agree, US owners are buying PL clubs to make money, like FSG have, I have no problem with that if they are run as businesses, gone are the days when the local boy done good can afford to buy/run a PL club, this is why Moores family had to sell us originally as they could not put the money in our rivals could who were being bought by international owners with deep pockets.

If you think the UAE bought City because of the way migrant workers are treated, you are naive, very few people give a damn about Bangladeshi and Indian migrant workers, not even the huge number of Indian businessmen living in UAE. I dont know if you are aware but the Indian businesses are a huge part of the economy in UAE, in fact you find them everywhere, big and small businesses and I am not even talking about professionals like doctors, engineers etc. When was the last time you went to the UAE?

I last went to Dubai 2 years ago, not that it matters, as a foreigner you will not see behind the scenes, apart from the minibuses ferrying around the foreign workers to and from their camps, I am aware of how much India business is in the area and how the people are exploited What you are dismissively talking about is exactly what UAE are upto, they are showing the Man City's/F1/Top Hotels/Tourist attractions as the face of UAE, underneath that is what it is built using/exploiting, the vulnerable migrants, as reported by the likes on Amnesty and reporters around the world, trying to raise it to the public's conscious as Western governments are turning a blind eye for financial & political reasons, look at how Jamal Khashoggi fiance is trying to raise the issues with the Newcastle buy out.

Though I know the migrant issues in UAE, when it comes to civil rights, it's not comparable to Saudia for example. I know UAE quite well especially Dubai as I go there not only as a tourist but most of the time for business and I have quite a few friends from Indian and Mauritian origin living there. I would even say that illegal immigrants in Europe live in worse conditions. This is why I dont think the City owners have bought City for PR reasons.

Why do you think the City owners bought Man City then? The general perception I have seen was to have good Publicity/Branding/PR for Abu Dhabi, as the article says, they were interested in Liverpool also, so it cannot be because they are huge fans of City, I doubt they bought it for profit, as they do not need the money and there's easier ways to make money.

Klopp's success is hiding a lot of things and though I would like FSG to emulate the City owners, I know they can't, however, they should let the club spend what it generates which they are not doing. Net spend matters to those who want to moan about us not spending. I couldn’t care less if we sold our squad for £1b and spent £900m as long as it makes us better. Why would anyone? It’s what we’ve done well in the last few years. So you know that FSG can’t emulate City’s owners yet moan that they don’t? Nice one. How do you know the club isn’t being allowed to spend what it generates? You use one transfer window where we didn’t spend to suggest that’s the case. For me, if we don’t spend, it’s because Klopp doesn’t want to. He made it clear he was in charge. FSG have made it clear that he can spend, within their budget, on who he wants. Simple. If it’s not the case, why would a top, top manger, one who you say we were ‘lucky’ to get put up with it? As for Everton, don’t make me laugh. A new owner playing kid in a candy store, spaffing money on dump. Look where their spending has got them.

His best ever season and we end up with only the EPL while Pep is trying to do the treble again
