he would be a good temporary signing if masch did go, a cheap signing that would allow us to strengthen other areas of the team until next season. if he shouldnt be playing for brazil who should... lucas? lol! he kept ramirez and josue out of the side at times, whenever he played brazil didnt concede i thought he broke up the play brilliantly always winning possesion back for his side. dont know what games u were watching

lol holland didnt do that much at all til the second half, i really wanted them to win but both of their goals were pretty lucky and bad goalkeeping / defending from set pieces. they didnt control the game until towards the end when they down to 10 men and even then brazil were threatening.

argentina were over run by germany, doesnt make mascherano a bad player tho does it

wait u dont rate mascherano either? i suppose that says it all mate

he is arguably the best player in his posistion in world football. like it or not, barcelona's interest over the last 2 seasons helps prove that.

i suppose gary mcallister was a "PATHETIC SIGNING" too then eh? lol

at around £2m it would be a good signing in my opinion, as i said it would be a like for like temporary signing, he would probably last 1 or 2 seasons and that would allow us to spend more money on strengthening other areas of the team. it would be good business if we had to resort to selling mascherano.

thats just my opinion though, obviously your entitled to your own. but if you dont rate either of them then who do you think would be a good signing then mate?

you're crazy, suppose you don't appreciate hard working defensive midfielders. mascherano is not the best passer of the ball but i personally believe that winning the ball back for your team regains possession in defence and midfield, creates chances and prevents a team from conceding goals. it might not be the most attractive aspect of football, but in my book that wins games in its own right... especially for a team thats dangerous on the counter.

you obviously don't rate de rossi, gattuso, makelele, toure, cambiassio, barry, khadira, frings, senna, diarra, felipe melo and essien seen as they dont play in the same posistion?

liverpool have played with pretty much 2 holding midfielders throughout rafa's reign and alls im saying is, if u got 1 player who "does nothing" sell him for £30m then replace him for another £2m player that also "does nothing" then it makes sense doesnt it? (aswell as 28 million pounds)

i agree that parker would be a good signing and the most likely out of those 3 because of the new uefa and prem rulings.

That's an interesting point considering "you are a tool that knows nothing about football". But yer, I personally think he is one of the best holding midfielders in the world if he goes then it would be a great loss, but he isn't irreplaceable, I think Cambiasso would be a great fit maybe he could be involved in the deal if Masch decides to follow Raffa.I know it is unlikely but if Masch goes to Barca we could get a deal that involves Sergio Busquets or Seydou Keita. Or, maybe Hodgson could target a young English player like Milner who is diverse and can roam around various areas of midfield.

Seydou Keita

Hodgson has already said he is looking British and keita isn't that and also at 30 has probably seen his better days

Barca are very unlikely to allow Busquets to go either. Fabregas and Arteta are two recent examples of poor decision making, they are unlikely to do it again
