I see no reason why games cannot be played behind closed doors in April if players and coaching staff have been quarantined

Even if games are played behind closed doors people will congregate outside and in pubs going against what the government has said you should do. Those gatherings will need policing and medical staff on standby and will take resources away from where they’re needed most. Those are the reasons that Scotland and others are using to cancel sporting events etc. so I don’t see that happening now.

Like I said before, no need to rush this back. Start back when it’s safe to do so and if that runs into next season then so be it. Even if they declare the season over and award us all our current places there’s no guarantee that next season would start in time anyway.

I wish it were as simple as that. They may have been quarantined but what about all the other people needed to put a game on even behind closed doors? The referees, reporters, camera crews, ball boys, club officials, medical teams?

By the time 4th April comes around this will be 10 times worse than when the announcement was made last Friday.

Think we are looking at playing football again late June early July.

That would be great if it happens. I think we might be nearer to end of August start of Sept though. This thing will need to be close to zero before confidence in getting back to normal. We need to hit the bottom first and that is a long way off still.

Now that the Euros have been cancelled, there's a bigger window to complete the season.

Had to be cancelled, I would still be surprised if we see any football before August the way this is panning out.

The issue may be that by August that a few clubs could fold.

League One and League Two clubs are going to be desperate without completing by end of May and getting no money in through season ticket sales that they normally sell in the summer.

Yeah, I can see allot of lower league clubs going bust, no gate money, allot of sponsors will pull out with the current climate, especially local sponsors that the lower league clubs rely on.

Players contracts/loans will start coming to an end in June also, so what happens to them?

The released lists this year are going to be massive. The good thing that could come out of this is the demise of agents. Clubs simply will not be able to afford their fees or will refuse to be held to ransom.

There are not many savvy clubs out there in League One / Two who are going to be equipped to deal with this without seriously compromising the end product on the pitch.

Many industries are going to be hit financially and unemployment will soar as companies cut costs. This will lead to less people being able to afford to go to matches.

The brave clubs will slash ticket prices to get bums on seats.
