He is not getting a game in the current Dutch side at the WC. It would help if he plays as that might increase his transfer value.

Can't believe some of the posts here. How can you say he played Lucas in Preference to Babel when they play in different positions. The problem with Babel is, he does all the hard work but when it comes to the final pass, he hasn't got a clue. You couldn't play him in preference to ngog because for minutes on pitch , he was our top scorer, not Babel.

RH will be wise to sell babel if there is a good offer on the table. He's poor man djibril cisse and that's saying a lot.

Babel just doesnt have the decision making of a great footballer. He shows he has skill when he plays by making great runs, taking great shots, but then the next time he is on the ball its a shot that hits the corner flag, or a pass weighter twice as hard as it should be. I think he would improve with more games, but if we can get money for him i would just take it. Would be best for the club and the player. But i am scared he could go to a Birmingham or club of similar stature and then come back to haunt us when we meet him again. Ideally send him abroad.

babel has potential, hes scored some amazing goals for liverpool but doesnt create enough chances. admit when he got a chance towards the end of last season he seemed to step his game up a little bit, he looked hungry in defence and attack.

what annoys me most about him is when he gets forward takes it to the byline, cuts inside, stands with the ball for about 15 seconds and stepping over the ball until the chance has completely gone instead of just looking up and getting the ball into the box.

im undecided about this, im scared that if we sold him to the likes of arsenal or birmingham he would magically become a great player overnight. on the other hand a £12m transfer fee would be tempting if hodgson got to spend it all.

his got power in his shots but no aim
i never said how many times i said when he actually uses his abilty he can, not he has hit 100 long range screamers because he is that good, and lucas hasnt got a clue in any match so really atleast babel has more about him

Mr Potential has fallen well short of what has been anticipated on top of which his attitude is hardly deserving of wearing the shirt. We can talk about 'not been given a fair go' as much as you like but I believe that it is time to move on.

If we could raise 10m or thereabouts and use the funds to gp towards a striker this is our most pressing need (outside LB and wide players (that can actually go past players and cross the ball!)). And this is still on the basis that Torres remains with the Club - fingers crossed!!

I think Babel has had enough time. He can run around as much as he wants but he doesn't seem to have any end product. I don't know, maybe Roy will bring out the best in him, but is it worth the risk when we can get 10 million for him which we could be spending on another better winger/striker.

Ok out of the options who would you rather have:
babel/reira/joe cole/ashley young?

I personaly would prefer ashley young with babel playing up front. All this talk about joe cole but i think he is past it and everyone is just remembering for the player he was instead of what he is now.

I disagree, I think Cole is the best option he hadn't played at Chelsea for a while because of injuries but on his day I think he is one of the best midfielders in the prem plus he wouldn't cost us anything. I do however, think Young is also a very good option except O'Neil wants a stupid price like 15 million for him. I said in another post if we do want to go for Young we should involve Babel or Riera in the deal.
