"We're hopeful - and I wouldn't put it any stronger than that - that a deal can be done by the end of the transfer season."

Does this mean start of the season ? Looks like we are going to have to be patient. Like Adam said yesterday, you cannot sell something for an inflated price quickly.

Read this interesting Q and A with Broughton yesterday especiall y about the sale part
http://www.liverpoolfc.tv/news/latest-news/exclusive-chairman-q-and-a

It clearly states we have interested parties and the club for sale will be an Auction so forget over inflated prices as he admits the highest bidder might not win, it will be the deal that is the best for the clubas a whole.

Could be an exciting year.

Why? he would be putting his professional reputation and career at jepordy if he was lying.
As he states he is legally obligated to do the best for the club.

He has been asked direct questions, which he has given direct answers to.

So why would he be lying.

Do you trust the yank installed purslow? Why would broughton be any different.Ask any Texas Rangers fans how optimistic we should be.

I'll rather wait until Hicks and sons clear their desks and f@ck off out the Shankly Gates!

Until then I'll be skeptical about every bit of 'news' regarding the sale of the club.

I still feel depressed!

The following is based on actual events. Only the names, locations and events have been changed.

But the over-riding issue is going to be resolved very soon, and that is the clubs ownership. I think if we can just sit tight for another couple of months things will look a lot brighter.

I know Dunc will disagree with this as this stance doesn't lead to heavy debate and will not create major scandal, which would encourage more traffic to his website, but I think we just have to wait and see now.
If Hodgson could encourage Stevie and Torres to stay, that would be the icing on the cake, wouldn't it?

Its this attitude thats left us in this mess in the first place

you are so right. This man was brought in by Barclays to do a job, This now not football and all emotion should be removed. The owners have gone to Barclays to initiate a sale of the Club. This was done to appease RBS, subsequently Barclays appoint the highly respected Broughton to finalise a deal within a given time. This actually is good news for the club long term.
The end is near my friends, although the new owner identity and motivation will offer a different debate.
